I’m delighted for the lads (Discreet Syndicate) who are from the north Co Dublin area. She had shown glimmers of form and ran well the last day. She obviously liked that ground. I’m delighted to get the win and I don’t know what we will do with her now. I don’t know if she will handle Dundalk, so she might come back next spring for that sort of ground again.

Irish HorseRacing Regulatory BoardThe Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Minella Till Dawn, placed first, as compared with its most recent form. The trainer reported that his charge had disappointed on his previous run when pulling up in the Grade B Troytown Chase over three miles on 8/11/20. He said his charge had a break since then, was freshened up and appeared to benefit from a drop back in trip today to two and a half miles in what he felt was a lesser race. Having considered the report,the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

I was tempted to put this in the soul selection, but decided there will be a stronger choice another time.
This one has stall 1 for this first visit to the new track. A lot of horses are going in from high draws here but either extreme in a sprint offers an advantage potentially and if there is a perceived bias towards high then if everyone goes over for it……
There is a relatively small field running today and this one has only won for Hollie Doyle on two occasions at the trip and over shorter. Luke Morris rides for the first time and that to me has the look of a job booking. With three last time out winners including the high drawn top weight, no one is going to even consider my selection who was third (on his side of the draw) in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot. Fallen a long way down from last winning mark and even further from opening high mark. Looks ripe to strike here.**Hugh Taylor’s selection here is Dynakite.
