Gotcha cheers Marlo. I remember Noel Edmunds of all people revealing he refused to pay the license a few years ago. The fox-looking tight-wad.

Unless you are an old aged pensioner in poor health in Belfast:

Well yes exactly. For that one case there will be thousands going unpunished (including at least one here). It’s not particularly difficult to avoid paying and still watch TV.

I’ve edited this because it showed an easy way to not pay for a TV License. Not sure that that’s the right thing to do.

The BBC Radio offerings are superb. There’d be some months I’d listen to 6Music constantly. I don’t have to pay the license as I’m not in the UK, but if there was a nominal £2.50 or or £3 sub, say £30 a year or something for people outside the UK to listen to their online radio streams I’d be happy to pay it.

Irish radio isn’t bad late night, but their software is awful, and BBC Radio has something decent on at pretty much any hour.

Fifty P you don’t have to pay for the licence if all you use are radios, only for televisions. Black and White TV if the are any still available cost the least.

You've got to accentuate the positive.
    Eliminate the negative.
    Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.

There used to be a separate Radio-only Licence, abolished fifty years ago and absorbed into the TV Licence, which cost at today’s prices around £20 a year

I’d be more than happy to pay that for access to BBC Radio and stuff the TV Licence

I say get rid of the TV licence and bring back the Dog licence and extend it to a Pet licence.

Just watching QoS with the new captains.

    Q. How many times did Red Rum win the GN?

    Contestants – Captain – No idea. Teammate 1 – Possibly 3 could be 4. Teammate 2 – Not a clue.

Now I know this happened probably before they were born but come on. They did guess right though.

Cannot watch QoS now, even before the new look. Don’t understand why everyone is in fits of laughter all the time despite no one having said anything in the slightest bit amusing. It looks like they are trying to turn it into an imitation of that A League Of Their Own on Sky.

It used to be class too in the days of Beefy and Bill Beaumont.

I want a rebate me, never had TV or radio at all since the 10th of August. Two million people without it in the North East since some transmitter got struck by lightening.

Got streaming like and lot’s of charities going around collecting old DVD’s and things for the old people who will be going stir crazy by now. Still no idea when it will come back on.

Some people are being offered partial refunds Botchy, although they are doing their best to weasel out of it by not including anyone with access to iPlayer (which is anyone with the Internet for a start):

I think that’s nonsense, you’re paying for a service and they can’t provide it in full. Some of the channels may not even have a catch up service to fall back on.

As for A Question of Sport, I think the new captains have potential but I have no idea why Paddy McGuinness is hosting. He’s fine on a blokey car show but someone with good sporting knowledge should be hosting (even if they are on an autocue). Only seen the first one so far and what was that trampolining nonsense about? I skipped it, it’s not It’s a Knockout. Definitely trying too hard to be ALOTO like CAS said.

It was better in the past when only one captain was replaced at a time so they can grow into the role with the experienced other pair. Ally McCoist was also very good on it IMO, knowledgeable but also had a decent wit.

I was prepared to give A Question of Sport a chance but Anton du Beke is on it today. Nothing against the man but he’s not a sportsman. They must actually be trying to kill the show off at this point.
