With so many differing opinions already posted on the forum on the likely outcome of most of races at The Festival and so many strong held beliefs seemingly set in stone, I wonder which ONE horse, were it to win, would serve up which poster the biggest slice of Humble Pie, and which "banker" would be the most expensive in the unlikely event of it getting turned over?

Mrs CS has already got some Jus Rol pastry ready for a large filling of humble pie just in case Long Run wins, I still can’t imagine me having eat it though!

It would knock a huge hole in my finances if Garde Champetre got beat, he looks likely to be carrying my largest Festival bet.

Long Run getting beat fair and square would be like financing a chav’s trip to Gregg’s every day until 2025 :(

Cheese and ham baguettes also very nice, and good value :)

I really don’t see how Long Run is bomb-proof – I, for one, am not convinced he’ll relish 3 stamina-sapping miles around Chelters.

If Punchestown gets there reay to go I’d much prefer him, with Weapons of Amnesty a good E/W saver.

I do think big Bucks is the banker of the meeting. He will surely be 1/2 or less come the day.

Every year before the festival I look at my pot and wonder how big a chunk of that will be gone next week!

Luckily the last 3 years a have been great to me but I fully expect to lose all the cash I have won ever the last 3 months and maybye mmore.

Dunguib has already made me plenty so I’ll most likely hammer him in the first and then wish I had backed Get me out of Here if he hacks up.

Some of my Ante post bets already reek of hunble pie like Binocular and Cracked Away Jack Sparrow.

The plan is to back Go Native now but I am waiting to see what the ground is like….If it’s good ground then I will be backing one very few people have thought about and at huge odds….I think this horse will beat them all and will post him before the big day but can’t be having you lot getting on before me 8) I could be eating a double doze of humble pie.

I was told some time ago Titi Bustillo would win the County hurdle and although he ran in the same prep race at Cheltenham as American Trilogy I am not confident enough to back him until I knw for sure Ruby rides him.

Galaxy Rock had an 8 week break and had a look at a 3 mile race yesteday. He’s in the Petempts but now may be switched to the Martin Pipe over the shorter trip……He’s a very good horse and wherever he goes I’ll be backing him despite what the form book says.

I wouldn’t lay Puchestwns but I can’t see him winning…..I’ll be backing Long Run and could end up with big slice of humple Pie for being so damn stubborn.

The buggest piece of humble pie would be if Sizing Europe who I raved about before he won the Irish Champion hurdle win the Arkle. I say he has absolutely no chance of winning and Captain Cee Bee will destroy him.

I’ve already backed the machine at 16’s last October/November time Zippy so no danger of me going back in again.

Agree that Big Bucks’ will go off short and in a good World Hurdle I could see him being beaten given he comes off the bridle and hits flat spots in his previous Cheltenham races.

Not sure of Weapons Amnesty – my thoughts keep going back to the Newcastle race, if the horse was really THAT good surely they’d have taken in a beginners chase with him?

When Grasshopper is tucking into his Humble Pie after Denman destroys his field I want him wearing this:

I dont mind setting myself up as the laughing stock,as i was always taught not to laugh at others if you cant laugh at yourself! So here goes-

    Sizing Europe

too many ??? for my liking! One in particular is his resolution in battle!

    Solwhit

i dont think he will be speedy enough, has got to be there at the death though!

    Long Run

too young, too novicey.too risky! even though i backed him months ago for the RSA to small stakes to cover my Mikael bets!

    Tranquil Sea

still absolutely convinced if something gets into a battle with him he"ll quit!

    Big Bucks

I have said it all year Tidal Bay will sprint past him! We"ll see! 8)

If Dunguib gets beat I’ll be on the first flight home and I doubt I’ll be alone. We’ll never get ourselves out of this recession if he doesn’t oblige!

The QMCC has historically been my most profitable Cheltenham Festival race.

I will be slightly miffed, and lighter in pocket, if Master Minded fails to win. Barring a fall, it should be a case of how far.

    Humble Pie? Hmmm?
I suppose having intimated to everyone; relatives and friends alike, that Dunguib is already home and hosed – I shall have to make use of a shovel instead of a spoon for said pie, should the Irish banker fail to deliver. :?

    He won’t fail ! :D

There’s a few horses I’ve been saying for some time simply aren’t good enough and if any of the following win i’ll be due a large portion of humble pie:

    Tataniano
    Riverside Theatre
    Weird Al
    Go Native

Rightly or wrongly Go Native is the only one I’m concerened about :!:

I haven’t really engaged into any debates as to what will win. I suppose i’d eat a small bit of pie if Imperial Commander finishes ahead of Cooldine. Then again, i wouldn’t even waste your time buying pie, because it ain’t gonnae happen !

The bakers will be working overtime for me if Sizing Europe finishes ahead of Captain Cee Bee!

I’m going to stick my neck on the line and say….

Voy Por Ustedes wins the Ryanair.

I think some of the horses in this race are massively over-rated over this course and distance.

I’m all over it at 16’s.

I think you should be eating humble pie already CS, after your constant predictions both here and on the Racing post that Dunguib would run in the champion hurdle

He’s still not been withdrawn as far as I’m aware, :) if he does run in the Supreme and clocks a slower time than the Champion Hurdle winner I’ll be in for the first sitting, in fact I’ll have a second helping.

Seriously for my own purely selfish betting plans I’d prefer him to go for The Supreme and Voler La Vedette to switch to the CH otherwise I’ll be looking for a long shot, Won In The Dark? Jumbo Rio? Donnas Palm even?

Shaun, If Dunguib was your horse and things are how they now are re setbacks, withdrawals etc, where would you run him?
