Now that september is nearly upon and that summer is drawing to a close it will not be long till the focus will be on the jumps with it just a few weeks away now. Supposing you was a big jumps owner (in the mould of JP McManus, Graham Wylie, David Johnson and Andy Stewart) and you were looking for a 3 year-old to buy from the flat with the purpose of running it over hurdles with the intention of aiming it for the Triumph Hurdle. What house would you buy? It can be any 3 year-old as long as you are realistic (So please dont mention New Approach or Henrythenavigator).
I think Scintillo will make a good Triumph horse next march. Even though he was out of his depth in his last 2 races he tends to stay on in the later stages so that would suggest he can get further trip so hurdles could be his forte.
Anyone got there own suggestions to get the ball rolling?
August 28, 2008 at 11:04 #178423I have already backed Cosmea at 40/1 and am also going to have a little bit on Black Jacari both out of the Alan King yard
August 28, 2008 at 11:15 #178426Scintillo is a nice idea but, being a Group One winning son of a Classic winner, I wouldn’t have thought hurdling would be on his agenda.
August 28, 2008 at 13:11 #178437While not quite answering the question of which horse would I buy, if I absolutely had to have an ante post bet on a horse at the moment I’d stick with Alan King but plump for It’s A Date.
Not a fan of the flat though so most likely way off the mark.
