My tip is Mille Cheif
Made his jumping debut in England was going to win easy until got brought down by the 2nd horse. However he looks a nice horse and his in the right hands as well.
Any other horses.
November 8, 2009 at 21:18 #257964Impossible race to weigh up at this stage. Doubt we’ll see the winner out this side of Christmas.
Alaivan has gone from Oxx’s to O’Grady’s and EOG supposedly thinks a lot of him. Mullins also has a half-brother to Zaynar who won in France. They’re the only two Irish hopefuls I’m aware of at this stage but our record in the Triumph has been very poor in recent years.
November 10, 2009 at 09:14 #258113Sang Bleu would be my early selection – exceptional peformance having been taken out in a 5 horse pile up incident on his debut – was shuffled back from first to last in the race and still managed to win the hottest maiden hurdle of the year

Barizan 33/1 is worth a little gamble. Evan Williams has made sure he only runs when Ap is available and he keeps winning by half the track. May run at Cheltenham again on Saturday. Plenty time to let him down and strengthen up and could end up a contender….wouldn’t have my lunch money on anything at the moment though unless you want to lay it of before the big day.

November 22, 2009 at 21:35 #260066Of those we have seen thus far, Pistolet Noir stands out.
Improved for his Chepstow debut when slamming the Evan Williams trained Barizan (previously 5 from 6) at Cheltenham last week. (Chepstow conqueror, Olofi, back in third).
Had a breeze through some of the untried fancies, but nothing really jumps out and hits you. Some are associated with top, top yards, so chances are they’re pretty decent.
Pistolet Noir is still available at 25s.

I think it’s still very early to be seriously considering anything for the triumph, and no doubt the picture will be much clearer in the new year, however I actually like the look of this one too Bos and am thinking of a point on him for this myself. Think he is at his best on gd-sft and will see how his campaigning goes.

Mille Chief’s debut form was done no harm by Bocamix’s impressive victory at Wetherby this afternoon – he looked like the only horse capable of giving the strong-travelling Mille Chief a race before himself coming to grief – so it will be interesting to see how he runs on Friday in what looks like a reasonable Newbury novice.
December 13, 2009 at 20:37 #263725any one else she the way Vieled skipped away from the last at leicester i think it was ,i will certainly be keeping my eye on her between now & March !!1
December 26, 2009 at 20:52 #265702Mille Chief is in the 1st race at Kempton tomorrow.
And Alvian was dissapointing today as well.Any thoughts from you guys
December 26, 2009 at 23:02 #265736The best Juvenile hurdler will be running at Chepstow on Monday are my thoughts Darren – can’t be certain he’ll turn up for the Triumph as he’s a horse of enormous (and I don’t use that word lightly) potential.
Sang Bleu is the horse i’m refering to – makes his UK debut in the Finale Juvenile Hurdle for Nicholls/Walsh.
December 27, 2009 at 19:07 #265923Was more of a workmanlike performance by Mille Cheif today he be better for that win.Any news when he run again.
December 28, 2009 at 18:16 #266098What did you guys think of Sang Bleu today.
December 28, 2009 at 21:02 #266133Didn’t exactly live up to the billing above did he?
Looked as if he was just well beaten by a better horse on the day.
December 29, 2009 at 09:13 #266168Beaten by a better horse on the day – Sang Bleu is a horse for the future though and probably on better ground with a different jockey he’ll be seen in a better light.
January 1, 2010 at 13:18 #266891I hear Nicholls has a big opinion of Sunwise, a horse he beat Pittoni just recently won his debut over hurdles so think 60’s on Betfair is worth a gamble even though we havenn’t seen him yet.
