Maybe a mouse has more appeal than a dead biscuit Ghost ? Your storyline was as good as Tippi’s (Triptych) but hers was shorter and must have caught the fly watching public’s imagination more. Your good luck won’t help me – I need friends and no click will take an interfering dick like me who is trying, like the snouts who tried to to break up the speakeasies in the time of Prohibition a hundred year back, to snuff ’em out and break ’em down.
Like you I’ve also got dem dirty biscuits.
February 10, 2023 at 17:51 #1634852I thought Ghost was nailed on to get to the final
Ghost, You were only one vote behind myself and Ian so you were virtual level considering Ian voted for himself and I voted for myself.
Next year I will ask a professional poet to rank the poems from top to bottom.Charles Darwin to conquer the World
February 10, 2023 at 18:40 #1634858Nathan, I very reluctantly voted for myself too because I sensed it was my only lifeline to stay in the chase but it wasn’t to be. The Ying & Yang, Unstoppable Force meets the Immovable Object battle between you and Chezza would’ve crushed anyone fighting for second place IMO 😂
The only consolation I get in all of this is that I’ve yet to vote in Play Off 2. Now, who do I choose? Whatever happens, I’ll be playing it alarmingly late just like Dancing Brave in the ’86 Arc 👹
February 10, 2023 at 19:05 #1634862Chezza resents the automatic assumption from the awful Hughesey that Chezza simply voted for Chezza without any form of due process.
Chezza considered all the contestants very carefully, then came to the totally-unbiased conclusion that, given that Chezza’s by far the best, it naturally follows that everything Chezza does is by far the best, hence Chezza’s poetry is by far the best, so Chezza felt Chezza had no option but to vote for Chezza.
Chezza hopes that clears things up.

I say BRING BACK THE GHOST.
I think it’s down to Hughey
to admit his poems are stale news and ol’ ten varieties of cheezecake to admit one of his
multiple personalities lied brutally in suggesting he read
through other numbers before voting for his own.Awful Hughie you make the bloody news and the rules – Change them and deduct one point from your score as rumours about you are spreading and there’s a smell.
Chezza is talking out of his ten big pretentious *rses – he put in more poems than anyone else deduct 10 points.
February 10, 2023 at 22:46 #1634893On the one hand, gamble is obviously right if he’s criticising the hated (by Chezza, loved – sickeningly! – by apparently everyone else on the planet) Hughesey.
Chezza’s not quite sure what gamble is blithering on about (nothing new there, historically, Chezza feels he comprehends marginally less than 10% of gamble’s material and suspects that’s just as well) but there are no bad attacks on horrible Hughesey, so gamble has Chezza’s full support there.
But as for this nonsense about the allegedly multiply-derrièred Chezza having too many entries, allow Chezza to spell it out – if Gigginstown can have ten runners in the Irish National, then Chezza can have ten poems in TRF Poem Of The Year.
And obviously they are the best ten poems by a distance – they must be, because Chezza wrote them.
