I live in a small village in the Borders and the window in the office I house the computer I use overlooks Thirlestane Castle, a genuine ‘Border Castle’ so when I was scouring those two races today in search of an outsider which had a squeak I could hardly overlook this one could I?

Pure and simply guesswork, the only meagre ‘skill’ lay in calculating that a couple of outsiders were my only hope.

Still a couple of races to go (at Sandown presumably?) so not all over yet but if I do sneak home ahead Andrew it’ll be most unfair on you as you’ve led virtually from the start.

Not at all, the leaderboard doesn’t lie. It’s a long old competition and you stayed in contention all that time. Takes a bit of courage to put up a big outsider and you deserve the rewards. Besides I have had a few healthy dollops of fortune myself along the way.
