    Tanya Stevenson, for her professionalism, broadcasting ability and engaging personality.

    If this nomination is rightly excluded on the grounds of being a contradiction in terms, I would suggest Tommo.

    The man has taken on a new lease of life since beating cancer. Now he has defied getting the boot from Channel 4 to land new work in the Middle East and to be taken on by BBC radio for Cheltenham.

    This is the category that I have least affection for.
    Despite that, Dettori should be removed from the jockeys category in my view, and love him or loathe him, this would be a more suitable resting place.
