Many thanks Graham for your kind words and nominating the Meydan Thursdays Thread originally created to wipe away winter blues by backing horses in Godolphin blue in sunny Dubai when along came Covid, racing was cancelled and we hunkered down not really knowing what to expect. Those months that followed we all drew strength from each other and somehow got through the dark days, not without some scary incidents I might say, but the friendships made on the Thread have held fast. We are scattered all over the UK and one of us is in the USA and they’re all pretty good tipsters too not just the horses but Graham & Dazza are a whizz at giving the bookies a good bashing when it comes to the golf.

Also many thanks David for my nomination, That was really nice of you. I’m rooting for Graham to win it this year, there are so many on here worthy of the honour it could be a close call.
Some great nominations for all the categories coming in and thanks to Nathan for doing this again.

December 17, 2024 at 07:17 #1715581Going to nominate Wilts as poster of the year because they are always there to congratulate someone on a win and they had faith that Metal Merchant would back up his early season win on the flat, but didn’t.
The more I know the less I understand.
December 17, 2024 at 10:38 #1715588One to watch 2025 – Dylan Johnston. Best young NH rider I’ve seen for many seasons.
Jump jockey of the year – Ben Jones. A breakout year since joining forces with Pauling.
Journalist of the year – Chris Cook. Dealing with a wide range of topics in his Racing Post columns.
And last, but certainly not least,
Villain of the year (and last year, probably next year as well) – The Gambling Commission.
