Entries out…….
https://www.racingpost.com/racecards/32/aintree/2021-04-09/779531
Lostintranslation is the surprise entry, and though probably not for me, yard know how to win this, and he’s interesting for sure.
Livelovelaugh was my long term fancy for this after his run in The 2019 Grand National, and his runs this year have been very good. Providing he opens at a fair price, I’ll have an Antepost.
His stablemate, and fellow Ricci horse, Annamix, is also interesting, and he’d be worth a second look, but it’s the Munir/Souede stablemate, Fan De Blues, who really jumps out, and I’ll be watching entries elsewhere with him, but he could be a serious player.
Also in the double green is Janika. They’ve teamed up with Henderson before to win this, and after his big run in The Coral Cup, he jumps off the page here. Caribean Boy is another one for connections, and a performance like that at Newbury in November, would put him bang there. The one horse who screamed “Topham” earlier in the season, also at Newbury in November, was Morning Vicar, and wouldn’t rule this out as being the long term plan.
Gigginstown are represented by Balko Des Flos, and Farclas. It’s easy to say that Balko is regressive, but De Bromhead can do little wrong at the moment, and he got a big run out of Sub Lieutenant in this two years back. He was a horse with a similar profile. Farclas has been on the radar all season, but thankfully I’ve pulled back from betting him, not that he hasn’t ran well in defeat. It’ll be harder to leave him here. This looks perfect.
Go Another One & Ibleo certainly advertised their claims at Cheltenham, while Modus is always a difficult horse to write off.
I really have to bet Livelovelaugh if he’s a price, as I’ve though this race was perfect for a while now, but I’d happily have three in this, and looking at this shortlist from those above….
Balko Des Flos
Caribean Boy
Fan De Blues
Morning Vicar….I’ll almost certainly add one of them Antepost.
Livelovelaugh 14’s
March 23, 2021 at 20:51 #1532086The one that caught my eye for this is Visioman. Henry did mention him after winning in October as one for the race. He’s had a run over hurdles off a lower mark which should mean he’s cherry ripe for this. Henry had the 2nd in this last year and i imagine a HDB/RB combination would be very very popular here.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!March 23, 2021 at 22:45 #1532107You didn’t mention the winner
Had his warm up today
March 23, 2021 at 22:52 #1532111Lostintranslation would be a very intriguing runner who would be well worth a look down in grade, but he’d be giving lumps away and simply hasn’t looked the same this season. I’d be very surprised if they came here.
Ibleo can do very little wrong, but keeps getting penalised for his efforts without winning.
One I like the look of early doors is Huntsman Son. His mark doesn’t look beyond him and I reckon this will suit.
That said it is hard to argue Livelovelaugh looks every bit a Topham horse. Can’t see anything else starting favourite quite honestly!
March 23, 2021 at 22:55 #1532112Thought he had threw it away today Grass
March 23, 2021 at 22:59 #1532113Ye of little faith! He doesn’t like that ground. If anyone dares to say he is a bridle horse I will bare knuckle fight them.
March 23, 2021 at 23:00 #1532114What d’you think of Kauto Riko?
March 23, 2021 at 23:11 #1532117lol, I thought of you when he won, knew you’d be delighted with that. He definitely deserves a big one, he’s been close in plenty of them.
Kauto Riko is a smashing horse, and this would be small consolation if he doesn’t make the National line up. I really liked the look of him at Kelso last year, and he’s obviously been kept for Aintree after his eyecatcher in The BetVictor. Wouldn’t put you off him at all.
March 24, 2021 at 13:25 #1532188Agree with Peter h I like the look of huntsman son ran well at a big price last time out
March 24, 2021 at 17:57 #1532229Looking through the entries again another one I’ll be watching keenly with a view to next year’s Grand National is Snow Leopardess. Very lightly raced and was very encouraging last time in the NH Chase. Shouldn’t be too outpaced in this I don’t think, but I’d be treating this as a sighter for next year anyway.
March 25, 2021 at 09:43 #1532300Senior Citizen was a big eyecatcher in the Sefton back in December. His jumping was faultless and he travelled smoothly until 2 out when the soft ground took its toll. He was then put away for the winter as he’s ground dependant and returned with a solid 4th at Newbury. If he gets his ground then i will be with him for sure.
March 25, 2021 at 11:51 #1532307I think that Snugsborough Hall is primed for a big race somewhere, so why not here. He’s been running better than the results would show. I’ve taken 33/1 in the chance that he comes here.
The other two that I like are Caribean Boy and Go Another One. Caribean Boy I like just on his Newbury run. I think that if he replicated that he would not be too far away. Go Another One is a horse that I thought would be worth stepping up in trip, but after his run at Cheltenham, I would be interested in him at this trip.
March 25, 2021 at 15:45 #1532339I really didn’t want another early one here, but Morning Vicar getting supported, and had to take the 20’s while I could.
Livelovelaugh 14’s
Morning Vicar 20’sMarch 25, 2021 at 18:33 #1532367Lostintranslation is an eye-catching entry alright , the issue is he just isn’t seeing his races out , I thought they may have had a go in the bowl with him , cue card had a similar issue mid career and it’ll be interesting to see if they can get him back to …the aintree fences may well waken him back up
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
March 25, 2021 at 18:58 #1532372A tough race this always, but TakeYourTime, I’m with you here. An early bet on Senior Citizen at 20-1.
Peter & fgwilson, I also like your Huntsman Son selection, and I would be close to certain that he won’t be anywhere near 33-1 on the day.
That’s my pair anyway
Free bets both of them
March 25, 2021 at 19:09 #1532377HDLG, did Cue Card ever bleed? As LIT has been reported to have bled on at least one occasion. Never a good sign…

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!March 25, 2021 at 20:20 #1532389No but they lost a season with a throat/breathing issue , as far as I know he didn’t bleed in the GC
