A terrier who didn’t deserve this.
May 23, 2021 at 23:30 #1542006I think Daryl Jacob will be pretty upset, that horse was one of his favourites.

Poor Top Notch he was the most genuine lovable little horse. How terribly sad for connections to lose him this way.
RIP ⚘Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 24, 2021 at 00:45 #1542012Gutted to read this. I’m glad he didn’t die in a horrid accident on the track, but it’s still incredibly sad 😢
May 24, 2021 at 12:39 #1542047Absolutely gutted to hear this, an all time favourite, and only 10 so sure there were more great performances to come from him.
Condolences to all his devastated connections.
Just read he was due to go to Daryl when he retired, so so sad.
RIP Top NotchMay 24, 2021 at 17:41 #1542087Poor Daryl must be devastated llavim, 10 is no age at all he could have had another 12/15 years at least.
Such a darling of a horse I could never watch his races until I knew he was home safely.
At least he was at home with those who loved him but it seems so unfair.

May 25, 2021 at 16:18 #1542191I was looking on the net for information on Star Seeking who hasn’t been back out
since September, when I came across the news about Top Notch. It quite shocked me,
he was exactly the type of horse that I loved. It’s sad to think we won’t see the
old boy at the festival next year.May 25, 2021 at 16:49 #1542194So sad to see Top Notch’s name here. He was a great favourite of mine and a wonderfully tough and consistent performer. Perhaps the best way to sum him up is simply to say that he was perfectly named.
RIP Top Notch
May 27, 2021 at 00:12 #1542305Heart-wrenching news. One of the gutsiest and prettiest pocket-rockets I’ve ever seen. Never forget his gallant defeat in the 2015 Triumph Hurdle. Heaven certainly has a place for this brightest of equine stars.
May 28, 2021 at 07:15 #1542429Gutted to read this. Put in a tremendous performance at this year’s festival off top weight at massive odds. RIP Top Notch
