Still mulling over whether to have a bet or not today…..
RITE OF PASSAGE…Looks a penalty kick but at what odds? I’ve never been overkeen on odds on chances especially in novice races oon horses without any previous jumping form
IRISH ARKLE…Too tricky by far, don’t fancy Nicholls horse, don’t like 7 runner races either, have a feeling Zaarito is over-rated especially after the run of Jessies Dream against Roberta Goldbeck
IRISH CHAMPION….Still feel Donna’s Palm represents good EW Value if his loss of form in the second half of ladst season is ignored, again must be 8 runners or no bet. Otherwise I suppose it has to be Sublimity?
QUEL ESPRIT …I’m getting nerveous about this one, he’s a ver short price for a horse from a stable that hasn’t exactly beenfiring on all cylinders and he’s taking on a Grade 1 winner…maybe??
FLAMINGOS GOLD..Initial this one looked a very good EW at around 8-1 but more research shows the trainer hasn’t had a winner in the last five years…hardly a recomendation. Don’t fancy the Mullins horse
Any opinions?? Comments??? Should I keep my powder dry?
January 24, 2010 at 11:04 #271778Sports Line/Solwhit double. Don’t act like you don’t know that these two bad boys are gonnae do the business !
January 24, 2010 at 11:12 #271780Sports Line,Solwhit and Quel Esprit all to win today.
Any idea on which race Quel Esprit go for at Cheltenham i hope it is the Albert Bartlett novices.January 24, 2010 at 12:02 #271791Sports Line might well win as should Solwhit but now there are only 7 runners (De Valira is a NR) I won’t be have a serious bet today
That said I spent several hours yesterday going over the meeting and if theyt all won without me being "on" I’d be very peeved so I’ve had a 1/4 point EW Yankee and an extra 3/4 point EW accumulater on my original four
Staked 7 points (I can’t recall the last time I placed such a small bet)
RITE OF PASSAGE
DONNAS PALM
QUEL ESPRIT
FLAMINGOS GOLDJanuary 24, 2010 at 12:08 #271794Good luck with your selections. I think Sports Line may be an Arkle Dark horse all the same, and his big price might just mysteriously dissapear after the race today.
January 26, 2010 at 12:38 #272146Best choice on Sunday was to bet very small
Pity there was a non runner in Donnas Palm’s race I’d earmarked a 100 points ew had there been eight, with seven only I didn’t bet athough it didn’t take much thinking about to name the first three2009/10 NH Kitty now stands at PLUS 1011.32 Points
One bet today
20.66 Points EW SAINTLY LADY 4.00 Sedgefield 11/4 taken with best odds guaranteed
Probably a lot better than the bare bones of her debut win, and it’s long way from Haverfordwest to Seldefield to bring one solitary horse

You’d be better off in the ‘Daily Lays and Plays’ section, CS.

Thanks for the pointer, I’m still finding my way around
January 30, 2010 at 13:17 #272946Probably wouldn’t have had a bet but it’s snowing so I’ll be indoors, TV on :>) and as I’ve entered the Weatherby’s Guide competition I’ve had a small interest in
Perce Rock
Carruthers
Tiday Bay3 ew doubles ew treble total stake 14 & 1/2 points
Depending on how the Cleeve cuts up I may have a decent sum ew on Tiday Bay, it wouldn’t surprise me if Paul Carberry ends up on his back
January 30, 2010 at 15:55 #273010Couln’t resist the 14-1 about Tidal Bay but only to a miserly 25 points ew :>(
Can’t belive I didn’y put on more, and that I waited right to the off before deciding
He’ll give Big Bucks a race at CheltenhamKitty now up to 1380 points Profit
January 30, 2010 at 18:34 #273073Looking for a big price novice with a fair ew chance?
Check out CHEERS JOHN in the last at Punchestown tomorrow
Point to pint winner who was pitched in at the deep end on his hurdle debut, not the usual route for Enda Bolger who doesn’t over try his novices so I’m assuming he’s been showing something at home.
Enda has a really decent yardstick in the stable in the shape of Arabella Boy
January 31, 2010 at 11:48 #273194Can’t work out The Cross Country, JT has gone for Heads On The Ground but it’s a big ask to back a 13-Y-O without a win in three seasons at 5-2
I’ll stick to a small ew (between 5 and 10 pts) on Cheers John in the last
Thats all folks………….
January 31, 2010 at 16:13 #273268Got a little carried away with Cheer John’s chances 20 points lost, gave me a run for my money till blundering three out. I feel we’ll see him in a Hunter Chase before too long
Still I’ve added another 400 points profit to my kitty this week, that’ll do nicelyCURRENT NH PROFIT 1360 Points
February 9, 2010 at 12:00 #275105You obviously come from the Fist school of aftertiming CS- telling us what you’ve had on a horse after it’s won is best kept for the betting shop, post the stakes beforehand if you want anyone to take you seriously!
