I bet Boothill for this at this stage last year, only for him to end up a late non runner. That should be enough to make me cautious, but I’ve bet him again this year at 12-1 each way
December 2, 2024 at 22:10 #1714634Liking the look of JPR One this season.
The more I know the less I understand.
December 4, 2024 at 22:16 #1714741There are 3 weather fronts coming over between now and Saturday so the ground could get quite a bit slower. Jonbon won on soft-heavy last year, but he wasn’t imperious on it, and I fancy Quilixios to put it up to him as long as he gets his ferry over safely. The de Bromhead horse has over a stone to find on ratings but jumped nicely and finished strongly on reappearance. He won a G1 easily as a juvenile on soft-heavy and finished within half a length of Teahupoo on Limerick heavy the following season, giving him weight, so should cope OK if the going gets tough.
Quilixios 6-1 win
(7-1 with a Laddies a/c
)I put him in a little 27-1 ew double with Down Memory Lane for the Henry VIII as well.
December 5, 2024 at 14:03 #1714766Did I see the bookies were only paying 2 places antepost on this? Bit awkward now 8 have been declared
I expect Jonbon to put on a show but pleased the race has attracted good numbers and 1 or 2 will hopefully keep him honest. Skelton’s blatantly on the get Unexpected Party handicapped for March trail again lolDecember 5, 2024 at 16:51 #1714776I’d changed my tune, and was hoping that Solness would go to Cork, but he’s made it here
Still no convinced that they’ll all trap here, so I’ll hold off for now, unless I see the 33’s start to get hoovered.
Solness 40’s EW 3Pls
December 5, 2024 at 17:02 #1714778Sandown officials will be monitoring forecast high winds for Saturday’s Betfair Tingle Creek Chase day and have not ruled out an inspection on raceday morning.
A Met Office yellow weather warning is in place from Friday afternoon through to Sunday for strong winds associated with Storm Darragh.
December 7, 2024 at 08:37 #1714853Passed 7.30am inspection but another is to be held at 9.30am.
December 7, 2024 at 09:38 #1714857Passed the 9.30 inspection but things could change come race time.
The more I know the less I understand.
December 7, 2024 at 09:48 #1714861Yeah, the wind speeds are meant to increase thru the morning in the East, i believe.
December 7, 2024 at 12:07 #1714900Boothill out, along with Harry Fry’s other runners on the card. Unable to get to the course.
December 7, 2024 at 12:07 #1714901Just announced on RTV that Boothill out as none of Harry Fry’s horses have made it to Sandown
December 7, 2024 at 14:56 #1714930Gutted no Boothill but a saver on JPR one , never frightened to take on Jonbon
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 7, 2024 at 15:07 #1714935Quilixios ran very well but Jonbon just different class! Hope fallers OK.
December 7, 2024 at 15:08 #1714937He was very good wasn’t he, hard to knock his CV. Made it look very easy. Only thing is the other two were nearly lapped in the Arkle too, probably not their best day but suspicion nonetheless that they fall below G1 standard.
December 7, 2024 at 15:12 #1714941He was class there. De Boinville makes all the difference on him also. He’s a tricky ride and I feel Coleman rarely got the best from him.
December 7, 2024 at 15:19 #1714945He is such a professional horse. 8 Grade One wins. I hope he wins the Champion Chase in March.
December 7, 2024 at 15:23 #1714946I don’t agree with what they are saying there re the Champion Chase. Special Tiara, Politilogue, Put The Kettle On, the winner last year who I’ve forgotten already… none of these were exceptional horses but they won Champion Chases because the chips fell their way on the day. It can be a funny race.
