I find it interesting that the Timeform ratings for the Champagne Stakes shows that the top rated is Poets Voice on127p and the second top rated is Layali Al Andalus on 124p and yet on the ATR website their selection is Laylali Al Andalus..The ratings are taken from the Godolphin link to their horse race entries.
Talk about double standards. And people pay for their ratings when they are picking horse that are not their top rated.
The ratings are not race specific in all senses (if a brilliant 5 furlong runner appeared in a mile and a half race, his rating couldn’t be altered as a result for example) and just because a horse is top-rated doesn’t mean that it is the best bet in the race by any manner of means. The tip for Layali Al Andaluz isn’t representative of the view of all at Timeform either, merely the person tasked by writing the Timeform 1-2-3, in the same way that the Spotlight writer for the same race represents the Racing Post team as a whole.
