Alot of chat about Pomme Tiepy and how she looks a new horse.

Lots of encouraging signs in her last run and could be backed into 5/2 on the day imo

Pomme Tiepy has turned into a right madam over the past few years.

The other Ricci/Mullins horse in the field is the one to keep an eye on for the future. I have a feeling he was bought with a tilt at the National in mind.

Didn’t spot that IC that TMC has changed ownership. Rated around 140…very intersting horse to look at for the future.

I like Roccos Hall, was unlucky last time out, will handle the ground and stays the trip.

Surprised to see Miss Mitch in the race; I thought she’d gone to the paddocks.

The Midnight Club looks interesting. Will he really carry less than 11 stone? He was only beaten 2 1/4 lengths in the Jewson Hurdle by Weapons Amnesty (2 l) and Pride of Dulcote (1/4 l) in 2009, and an awful lot of the field seem out of the weights in the long handicap.

But Mullins seems to fancy him to put up a good show in the Gold Cup or the Grand National. He won the Thyestes a couple of times before with Homer Wells and Head Hunter.

I also wonder if Martin can work his magic on Agus A Vic, and if Bella Mana Mou can be fit enough to win at 33s. When she won a biggish novice chase over the distance at Navan in March 2009 in heavy going, she finished fast. She obvioulsy impressed as she was put up 20 lbs in the weights but has come down 5 in the meantime.

Yes he does look interesting alright. I was dissapointed Mullins ran him in the Grade 1 at Punchestown in the Spring instead of the handicap chase that he won with Scotsirish a couple of years ago. I guess that just shows how highly they regard The Midnight Club though.

Thanks for the confirmation. Win or lose I’ll put a little more on.

The Midnight Club has been my ‘£5 a week’ horse for the National since mid December, delighted to see some good and respected judges on here have somewhat similar thoughts.
I thought both times he ran at Cheltenham he got slightly strange rides…very wide and held up in the Albert Bartlett in 2009 and again a big hold up ride in the Jewson when everything he had done in Ireland suggested something more positive was the norm.
The AB hurdle form makes particularly interesting reading in conjunction with the betting for the Hennessy at Leopardstown on the 6th of February…

I see your point and have duly "invested", as it looks as if the pecunia might well "sequere" us.

Please God this fixture will go ahead. There was frost on the ground all day here today in Wexford, and Kilkenny always gets extremes of weather. You can be sure if its a scorcher Kilkenny’s the hottest place in Ireland, and if it’s freezing then, well you get the idea. Praying for a mild night :?
