I thought his interview with Ruby was a poor show

Thommo reading out the runners & riders with the lady in the background belting out Flower Of Scotland, I thought that was terrific.
He didn’t make a mistake with Neptune Collonges. He said Elliot was walking out ‘behind’ his horse (which he was), coincidence that NC was at the back of them..
To be fair.
Maybe it didn’t help having to drive to Ayr instead of flying there; I’d imagine he would have used the time on the plane to do some homework. Deserves a medal for getting there imo.
Did Walsh really have to make Thommo appear small by correcting him on-air? For me there is a shade of arrogance to Walsh that at times does him no favours. Am I right in thinking they may have a spat in the past?

I’d agree, Thommo, although not perfect, is likable. Ruby can often seem a bit arrogant/like he doesn’t have time for everyone. I think there is a hell of a lot to be said for presenting yourself well in public.

Well that being the case I shalln’t have the time to purchase his book then.
Can’t recall the exact nature of it, but it was after Denman had won the Gold Cup and Ruby had chosen to ride Kauto Star, Tommo asked him either did he regret riding Kauto or does he think he picked the wrong one. Ruby said ‘That’s a stupid question’, Thommo says I know, I know but I had to ask’
With Thommo getting his facts wrong, Ruby was more than entitled to correct him under those circumstances. Was he supposed to say that he hopes this will be his first Scottish National winner?

There’s nothing "arrogant" in correcting others’ mistakes; in fact, any arrogance belongs to those who think that they can spout any old claptrap and get away with it. Thommo is a professional and ought to have done his job properly- that is, got his facts straight in the first place.
