Morning Campers, well after a cracking week for us last week all of us managed a return of some sorts :D we go into this weeks offerings hoping that more of the same will prevail :) .

So we have the Open prep at Loch Lomond to wet the appetite for next weeks Main Course i assume that Corm has the week off to report for us :) , so without further ado i will start there.

An interesting stat if you are that kind of follower in the shape of a piece in todays RP stating that those who perform well this week do not as usual follow up with a good showing in the Open itself, so that trend i’m sure will be beaten at somepoint.

As for me i will start by selecting a player who has not been quite himself recently but who loves this part of the world and is a former winner of this Ernie Els in the hope that a return to former glories will spark an upturn in fortune for him.

Henrik Stenson will be next up for me, the same comment applies to him at present he to has not been quite himself but at somepoint he will come good i hope.

Several others merit the greatest respect none more so than last weeks winner Ross Fisher well done to Pete there :D , but i am going to have a stab in the dark for my third choice here, again someone who is due a good run and maybe this week could be the start of that so here’s hoping for an upturn in fortunes for Alexander Noren.

On next to the John Deere Classic and the return after one weeks break for Kenny Perry who has been on fire recently with his Golf that is so much so that he makes the market here this week, whilst not for one minute suggesting that he cannot win i will be passing him over at current odds.

Beginning my assault on this will be a player who i thought would be plying his trade at Loch Lomond, the gent in question Tim Clark, the supporting cast will be made up from Heath Slocum, Bubba Watson who deserves another chance after almost pulling it of for me a couple of weeks back and Dean Wilson who put up a good showing last week.

Right on to the Ladies and firstly the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic.

Firstly i will start by saying that having given it a lot of thought Paula Creamer will not be representing me this week as i feel that she needs a break, ark at me telling a lady what to do  so get on.

It is however a tad tricky this one if all aren’t but i will be having an interest in Karen Stupples who had a good outing last week, the same comment applies to my next selection who was in the lead at one point last week before having a wretched couple of holes towards the end, so in the hope that it has not left it’s mark Kristy Mcpherson will be my final pick for this.

Finally then to the Emerald Isle for the AIB Irish Open and i’m afraid that i am five handed here.

The first player to jump of the page at me was a surprise appearance of Morgan Pressel who given current wellbeing i thought would be shorter than the current odds on offer.

No surprises for guessing my remaining quartet.

Rebecca Hudson, Melissa Reid first and second for me last week, more of the same please :), and after a brief rest Paula Marti are next to step up to the plate, finally last but by no means least after i think being shocked by her inclusion into my team last week who wouldn’t be  and who incidently is three times the price this week compared to last week, so in the hope that she has got over the initial shock another outing is given to Maria Verchenova.

Well that will do it for me so as always whatever your picks BE LUCKY.

    Cheers for now.

    Adrian.

Good luck to Adrian, Crizzy and anybody else betting on the golf :)

The best tournament this week is the Scottish Open which takes place at one of the most beautiful courses in Europe and some top players are competing. Phil Mickelson is favourite and I would not be surprised if he won as he should have done so last year at this event but messed things up on the final hole and then lost in a play off. However his tendency to play some holes via the scenic route due to some erratic shots from the tee means that I will not be betting on him at the odds on offer.
I’m betting on Henrik Stenson to get his first victory of the year and I also like the chances of Peter Hanson who has failed so far this year to recapture the form he produced last season but did show a sign of improvement when 6th last week.
I’m also betting e/way ( top 10 ) on a couple of outsiders called Mikko Ilonen and Mark Brown.

On the pga tour, it’s the John Deere Classic which takes place on an easy par 71 course and plenty of birdies will be made which may be why Jonathan Bryrd won this event last year :) I always think that good putting is more important than usual on these easy courses and one of the best putters on the tour is Aaron Baddeley who is also a reasonably long hitter so he is my main selection.
I was not going to bet on the talented but inconsistent Sean O’Hair but changed my mind when I noticed that he has won this event in the past. He has not played well recently but he is the type of player who can produce a winning performance from nowhere which he has already done once this season.
I’m also betting on Heath Slocum who has put in some good performances this year without winning and has finished 6th and 3rd at this event on the last two occasions that he has played in it.
I think that D.J.Trahan is worth a bet as he has recently shown signs of a return to his early season form which saw him win the Bob Hope C/Classic in January.

The S/Koreans continued their recent dominance on the the lpga tour last week with another victory so which one will win this weeks event called the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic ? I’m betting that the answer will be Eun Hee Ji but just in case a S/Korean does not win then I have also bet on the american named Angela Stanford to win.

    Happy punting :)

    Pete

    Hi guys,

As you know I was away last week so didn’t post pre-tournament selections.

Anyway it’s good to see everyone still has a chance at Loch Lomond so well done and good luck (I haven’t checked any other tournaments).

As I was by myself yesterday and will be again today (plenty of peace to watch the golf) I went and had a score on Richard Green yesterday at 12/1 and sat and watched him play brilliantly without being able to hole a put (1 birdie, 17 pars). On a difficult course he never looked in any danger of dropping a shot so suffice to say I was surprised to see him still available at 12/1 this morning, being only two shots behind – so it’s another score just to put the mockers on him :D

Good luck all, I hope some of us (if not all) have a good day punting.

A well done to Crizzy :D , one half of the double up then maybe we should all take notice when a positive statement comes our way.

We wait with baited breath mate for what to put the house on next week :) .

    Cheers

    Adrian.
