    Cricket World Cup
    India vs England
    England to win @ evens

Early days and India 🇮🇳 just getting into their stride. Score was 78 for 3 and obviously England have made an early exit from the tournament already which means they can relax now and actually have a go at playing cricket.
Would be no suprise if they can lift their game now the pressure is off.
27 overs to go with India on about 90 so anything under 250 would be nice but it looks like they’ll bash 325 to me.
Packed ground of frenzied fans seems to lift the team and the run rate, so what looks highly respectable now can easily escalate into an unassailable lead and that is the danger here. The early breakthroughs need to be added to in the next few overs…..

    230 the target!!
England are now odds on but it’s a tricky wicket so we will see.
They will have to weather an early Indian onslaught for sure.

Glad you got something back on the wickets bet. This is one of the worst title defences in sporting history surely, more of an abdication. I saw a good amount of the India innings and we bowled and fielded quite well, it just needed a semi competent batting performance. Dreadful stuff.

Little more than four runs an over. Shocking and I wish I’d maxed the wickets bet in much the same way I’d wished I’d logged on to the bookie earlier to max the goalpost bet last night. The missus couldn’t understand my delight when the penalty hit the post inside two and a half minutes.
I expect ten Haag will outlast the Sheffield manager which is a pity as I’m on him to get the boot first at big odds.

Nearing half time and Luton who are enterprising need only get two shots on target and mo salah could conceivably have a penalty or attempt on goal

    M. Salah to have 1+ Shots on Target (0 so far) & Alisson to make 3+ saves (1 so far) @ 7/2

    Luton Town 0 v 0 Liverpool
Will be an interesting second half coming up.

Salah has just missed a sitter followed in the same passage of play by his partner Nunez also missing a sitter. A shot on target by the African is all that stands between me and a profitable day. With Becker having made his mandatory three saves.
Can’t count your chickens 🐓 just yet but Mo sniffing the scent of a chance but has been not on the case today and being not his usual selfish self, which strikers desperately need to be. Alan Shearer being the greatest exponent of that genre of footballer.

Erik ten Haag is a lucky manager. He is running a club which is up for sale and like an empty edifice up for auction, it doesn’t matter who the janitor is.
The Glazers are so obsessed with getting a huge sale price for their club, they have forgotten to sell it!
Imagine putting your house up for sale and having two parties willing to pay your asking price and more and you holding out for so much and for so long that they both pull out. Then the market collapses and you have to take a vastly reduced offer.
Fans with any sense could boycott the club until a sale goes through it might sharpen some glazer minds if they are playing in a half full stadium every week.
I’ve looked back to my comments about his style of man-management in September and I took the 12/1 on offer about him winning the sack race. No manager has departed since the wolves boss threw in the towel in August.
And although the Sheffield boss looks highly vulnerable, rudderless Man United are vying for winning the title for the division’s worst team. The Manchester United fans have to go down as the worst in the division too given they seem to be totally powerless against the Glazers who have run the club into the ground. Their protests have proved to be absolutely futile. Put West Ham and Liverpool fans in exactly the same position and we’d have seen revolution at their club’s.
The dismantling of United as a top four club and a European super power will be completed when Bayern Munich are the visitors in the final group stage game. With Galatasary the next fixture, Rock bottom of the table United will be confirmed wooden spooners by Harry Kane’s gang. If Kane doesn’t score yet another brace of goals it’ll be because he is injured or suspended.
    Recommendation ante post.
Manchester United vs Bayern Munich Harry Kane to score two plus goals maximum win bet.

Last manager to go was Julen Lopetegui who left Wolves on 08/08.

    Chelsea vs man city

    the bookies have gone mad.

    Take advantage here

    KYLE WALKER TO WIN

    2+ AIRIEL DUELS
    Maximum win bet

    6/5

    skybet

yes Chelsea beat Spurs last week but that was a spursy thing and Man City will likely bring them back down to earth.

remember spurs were in the lead after a few minutes yesterday too, and yet again parked the bus and wallop as usual lost in the same circumstances with a full team.
Chelsea have had many false dawns and their billion dollar squad may revert to type again today with the mad American taking over from poch again pre match in the dressing room!!!!
I don’t do too many maximum football bets but walker to dominate just twice in 90 mins looks more than likely against a team who play solely on the deck. Can you see Sterling out jumping walker ?

Sterling did not have to worry and the clue was in the fact that Chelsea play on the deck and not in the air. Well and truly blown out there…

    England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 vs 🇲🇹 Malta
    7:45
Even though Malta have lost all seven of their matches they have conceded less than three goals a game but have only scored two. That suggests they are hard to breakdown. England are fielding a very strong side here and they can take this game by the scruff of the neck and win very comfortably. The main players here look to be Connor Gallagher who has settled well into a key role at Chelsea under the new boss. He has kept the chairman out of the changing room and got control of the players. Sterling is still a tricky player to manage and highlights that by not playing tonight and having gone home early at the last tournament won’t be missed by Southgate here.
England should score five goals plus here and four in the first half will give you a comfortable second half
ENGLAND TO SCORE 5 plus goals @ EVENS

Kane 1+ shots on target and Maguire to commit 1+ fouls (was 8/13) @ 1/1
    Sky bet.
In a parallel universe Harry Kane will not muster a shot on target. Even if he has an off night he should be taking free kicks within range and penalties. He excels against lower class opponents due to his goal poacher attributes and while he is not quite guaranteed a goal he is hard to oppose having an attempt tonight if he starts and as skipper he is always a starter.
The restrictions on this bet have been raised to £25.
In another parallel universe Kane’s able namesake Maguire will not commit a foul all night. In the real world his job demands that he puts it on the line and if his namesake Kane was not skipper maguire would be.
Having been hung out to dry by the now lame duck boss Ten Haag at old Trafford Maguire has answered all questions since.
He seems very at home in the England team where his contribution is valued by his teammates. Very interesting that the Manchester United manager has isolated himself by his constant haranguing of his players too numerous to mention but Rashford, Ronaldo, were the first swiftly followed by a string of top players finally De Gea whose treatment led to the point of realisation that they might not actually be the problem.

This thread has not been a happy hunting ground since the Rugby World Cup.
And festivals of free money don’t come around very often in sports betting.
    Cricket World Cup
    INDIA VS AUSTRALIA
    KICK OFF 8:30
Obviously this tournament has been a “ “non event “ for England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 fans and although there has been some great matches the interest level has been zero once England planted themselves firmly on the beach. What is very clear now is that the England players were conditioned only to play bazball only during the test season and as such need a totally different management for the one day game and despite most of the test team being IPL participants it just has not worked under the current auspices of the game and needs a total rethink because the total lack of professionalism has been astonishing.
Todays final should see two things Australia confirm their ability to handle the cauldron of India staging a home nation World Cup final.
India should win this easily given all the advantages they hold but if Australia can make an early breakthrough they could well go through India like a dose of salts.

India are as huge odds on are on a hiding to nothing. Over 100 thousand fans screaming for a win puts India under tremendous pressure.
If Australia bat first I don’t think they’ll win if India bat Australia may well make an early breakthrough.

    Breaking news!!!

Didn’t do at all badly with the World Cup cricket bet.
    Manchester City vs Liverpool

It is hard to ignore the following bet. If Africa’s finest is fit and ready for the early start then poor old Liverpool -who are frequently put upon to play early after international breaks ( we are told)- could make a bright start here and an easy ten pounds may kick off the day nicely.
For this one to be boosted to evens I’d recommend you fill your boots here and find a few extra accounts to place your bets so you beat the ten pound restriction placed on this bet.

Luckily for me Nathan, with my focus elsewhere I’ve dodged a bullet as I had just a tenner on Salah. I made the point over Haley Turner and how a thread about her impending 1000 th winner would have been slightly more interesting than the inevitable “did you see?!” thread and here was haarland on his fiftieth goal.
So I’ve been thinking about a milestones and millstones thread where people could highlight impending milestones when a player is approaching 100 or 50 goals or a thousand winners etc then we’d all know the list could be quite comprehensive and there would be some very good prices to land.
I won’t be starting it but maybe someone else can I’ve got do many projects and am moving operations horsewise to the weekly occasional catorgories….as my time gets tighter.

    Scottish premiership

    ABERDEEN VS RANGERS
    12 noon
Rangers to score 3+ goals 13/8
Rangers have two games in hand and need all six points to be taken before they face the old firm next where a win would place them near to par for the first time in a while. They are still way behind in reality with three massive losses compared to the Hoops three draws whereas Rangers have none and a decent showing today is vital if they have any realistic aspirations of battling for the title this year. They would have to bag the two games and at least a derby draw whist Celtic would shut the door with a win.
13/8 is a good price I was anticipating much lower….

    Ipswich Town vs MILLWALL
    KICK OFF 2000
Ipswich town to score 3+ goals
    At 2/1
Ipswich stuttered at the weekend and should be raring to go at a heavily frosty Portman Road.
I was talking to a fan today a fellow gardener who was bemoaning the fact he’s splashed out 42 quid tonight only to find the game is screening live on sky sports today.

Rangers have been blue for most of the week since failing to fire and were only saved dropping the whole three points late on to hand total control of the title race. Very disappointing from a sporting point of view that they cannot even make a go of it and anyone wanting an end of season punt Celtic have this in the bag. Rangers can draw some pleasure from Celtic’s exit from the champions league last night but that just goes to emphasise the paucity of any quality in the spl and why they’ll struggle without a Middle East buyout of the entire Scottish system.
