Des
just put my laptop on to see how yesterdays bets done
i had to go to work for my last late shift after the kylkenny race (ran well) i looked on here before checked results and glad to see we had a nice winner
i got 17.0 on betfair should have put on superodds as i now have a account as seagull put us right about that
but hay happy to have the 17.0 even with 5% comm
think i will use superodds more now
we will have to ask seagull to give us a trainers list for the turf . i can now produce my own stats with rsb pro but a list to start would be great and save a lot of work , its a great hobby this trainer thing even better when your well up!
regards
Lineform
March 9, 2005 at 11:10 #56498Hi all
a while back seagull recommened a trainer stats book , i think it was from raceform ?
can any one tell me if this is so , i am looking for a book for the flat season to start my list off
regards
Lineform
March 9, 2005 at 13:15 #56500You can get the info online at http://www.racingpost.co.uk but it means trawling through each trainer (not too much of a problem if it means a profit!!!).

March 9, 2005 at 13:32 #56501Lineform,
I found seagull’s original post which said-
"there is a small book published every year trainer stats by Raceform (half price at the mo at £7.50) at the end of the book they list leading trainers by month they also list the profit /loss s/r etc which is the clue to it all i.m.o. for example they show Sir M. Stoute as leading trainer in May since 1999-2003 a level stake pound in just that month shows a return of £101.00 "
Hope this helps,
Des
March 9, 2005 at 14:57 #56505Regards Stoute, year after year the pundits keep saying in April, Stoutes horses aren’t running well for the big ones next month, and year after year in May he does the biz.
Has it never occurred to them they are limbering up in April, i bet they say again this season. ;)
March 9, 2005 at 15:20 #56508Thanks for that Des and Phunter , i think he knock down price will be last seasons book , it will be worth the money anyway as i can glean some info from it for my turf list, if we all ask seagull for a list for 2005 turf he may do one for us as the AW is slowing up now could do with bit more action , i have been looking at the sires of seagulls selections looks a bit interesting as it cuts down the selections but ups the strike rate for example yesterdays 5 selections reduced to 3 selections if you take proffitable sires on the course and it did include the winner also kylkenny and rocky all ran well , penwell hill sire had its prodigy run 81 times for 13 wins( only at south) thats 16% sr for +37 lsp , i am just trying a few things , but i am backing all seagulls selections because sods law says the one i don’t will win, did put few bob more on the proffitable sires though:biggrin:
regards
Lineform
This system is solely trainers and nothing to do with any breeding variables. If u wish to add or deduct selections through any other variable thats up to you but it would make it a different method than mine.
this system is solely trainers and nothing to do with sires /grand sires or any other aspect of breeding.
there may be lots of selections but the sole aim is to make a level stake profit at the end of the season. So far this aw season as others on here can confirm its currently +110.00 points in front at s.p
at superodds its +168 in front so why would I want to introduce a breeding varaible into this? there may be other sytsems that are very selective and have just 1 selection a week or a month and as long as they show an overall profit ok by me i will send u results in full if u wish.
I am at a loss why u should want to change it???????
I get upset when people wish to alter this system as its something thats been doing well for each of the last 6 seasons but Ford spend millions designing cars yet someone can visit Halfords and buy bolt on spoilers furry dice and go faster stripes to make the car go faster. :) Strange Ferrari/ Bentley owners dont feel the need to do this
rant over.
message in your box later this week
rgds
the book is from raceform u would need to buy more than 1 seasons to gain an insight though

What a lovely life you have. Agree entirely with your post.
A system is a system NEVER stray from the rules. I have done so with other systems and have had my fingers burnt.
Got a little some thing for seagull you when you get back home. Will send you a email next week.

March 10, 2005 at 23:41 #56514seagull keep your hair on
i did.nt say i want to change the system at all ! i know it works as i have backed every selection since it started and im well up , i am new to racing and proud to say i have stuck with this to the letter some punters with many years experience would waver
the reason i look into other things like sires is to help me learn about racing and systems , i thought it may be of interest thats all , i did’nt list selections as i know and am very greatfull it is your thread and have the upmost respect of you
i am sorry if you think otherwise but i am my own person only trying to help.unlike some of the brown noses i have encounted since joining this forum .the ones that don’t seem to contribute to a thread but are quick to come out of the woodwork like maggots and comment
regards
Lineform

March 11, 2005 at 18:57 #56534Des
i dont get dinner date in the 4:20 wolv
reason being is what we spoke about last week the list seems to sugest 3yo + older races like you say, but the stats on rsb pro say all age (i.e 3+ or 4+) but not 3yo ony races in fact 3yo only for last 6 year is 5-16 = 31 sr for -15.69 %
so this clearly shows seagulls intentions , even though his list sugests otherwise remember it was the same for ma jarvis as well so i think it is safe to drop dinner date it must be a mistake on list
regards
Lineform
