I’m not 100% sure at this stage, as I’m relying on audio commentaries for some races (for reasons we can only speculate at) but I think THEY landed the falling out of the stalls acca today.
The worst start in every race appeared to be achieved by the most aggressively laid horse in the respective heat.
Paul Scotney must be proud of what his light touch regulation has achieved.
December 1, 2009 at 17:31 #261556Glen , its a wonder anyone bothers with the Flat , the AW is a pure Joke , and to be honest the jocks can do anything they want ,as Racing does not want any more bad news ……
I watched it today for amusement and Gosh would I hate to be getting involved in any of the races
Jump racing is gathering more fans with each day , and to be honest its not hard to see why
cheers
ps there was a 6/4 fav that was trading on Betfair at 3.45
so the malaise continues apace …..

I’m sure all the old boys who place their bets on the way to the pub to avail themselves of pre-watershed OAP rates have a mobile/wireless connection to Betfair, MRW.

Sometimes people make observations to the benefit of others, rather than just to suit themselves.

I’ve not seen an old boy bet more than £20 on course, hardly going to profit from an extra point on the board.
December 1, 2009 at 18:35 #261569Hi Mr W , the nag in questio was Hurakan , returned 5/4 fav , just before the off was trading at 3.45,
He never looked like winning at any stage, another fav bites etc , but when you have a quiet moment , maybe you should ask the question why did this happen and how come its happening on the AW with regularity
have a great day

Ricky

January 22, 2010 at 14:13 #271407Chappers on ATR isn’t totally sure which horse was left in the stalls there. He can’t quite make it out from the pictures.
Why is he looking at the pictures for his answer? Why not just look at the betting?

The blokes a pillock thats why, i dont know anyone his age that behaves like he does – its just wierd.
January 22, 2010 at 14:43 #271415It really is Groundhog Day at Leafy. Switch on ATR at the start of the 2.35 to see if the fifth leg of the biggest drifter-slowest away acca would be landed and I’m greeted by Michael Parkinson.

It would help if they showed the head on shot leaving the stalls during the actual race rather than 10 mins after it especially if the commentator misses it. Maybe they don’t want viewers to know.
January 22, 2010 at 18:16 #271476If half of what one regular sandpit in-running merchant told me yesterday at Wolves is true, noone should be betting more than fun money on the AW.

We need all the mugs we can get to bet on the all weather, that way at least they continue to support racing and we all know that every sport has its different levels that all require support!Remember you need to start at the bottom to support higher levels otherwise the lot will collapse and we dont want that!

I don’t understand that statement. Could someone explain to me why betting on the AW is more risky than betting on jumping? I’m genuinely interested, I’ve had as much success on one as the other.
I understand that I may have just opened myself up to ridicule but that’s alright. By all means enjoy yourselves.

You opened yourself up when you said your system for backing winners revolved around backing horses called "Charlie"!!To answer the above question very quickly! "Throw the form book out the window when betting on the All weather and get a pin"
Just be careful you dont prick yourself!

Well most of my systems resolve around ‘how much fun is it going to be.’
Although after Charlie Delta not doing much yesterday & Charlie ‘Look Who’s Second Again’ Smirke coming second again today, I may need to find a new one. That said, there’s Charlie Tipple at Haydock tomorrow,
he’s the outsider of four & God knows I love an outsider. But seriously, are you saying that AW is bent or just unpredictable?

Well the PC way of saying something is as bent as a Banana,is to say its unpredictable!I"m not PC,so i have no hesitation in saying its as bent as 2 bananas but anyone who doesn"t know that doesn"t know all weather racing!
