My name is The Observer. My specialisation lies in observing horses before the gates and then decide on a bet dependant on several factors. Note: I make bets via live stream im not oncourse!

I will post my live selections in The Racing Chat if im betting on the day. All results are put in here after the day.

People interested to follow need to watch the Chat.

I take notice of attitude of the animals, physical abilities for certain tasks and conditions and make Backs and Lays on that.

One thing as example: If you have a Heavy ground on any track, than there are certain kind of horses to look out for. You need horses that have a tendency to make many small strides or have a tendency to use their front legs more. You dont want a horse that is big muscled and uses his back legs. On Heavy ground often horses do well that are anatomically bad on normal ground. On a heavy ground uphill track you often see horses winning and gambled that look more like a giraffe and can only win on that day under these conditions.

Attitude: On a flat track on normal ground, if you find a horse, that is exceptional calm in movement natural i mean, not prancing of erratic head movements, then there is a great chance it will win. There are not many of those exceptional calm ones. One was Kingman for example on his last race or on 11th Oct 14.00 York nursery Aeolus. These types are the best horses to back. They seldom come but mostly the slaughter the field.

Day 1

on the Chat returned a healthy

PL of +12,0 Units

. My maximum stake was 3 Units and Minimum 0,5 Units. Unfortunately nobody was there, hope this changes. From 8 Bets i had 2 winners with E

jadah 4/1 and Lie Forrit 8/1, Stagecoach Pearl 10/3 was 2nd, Las Verglas Star 5/1 2nd, Back on Baileys 7/1 3rd

( being blocked would have won). The rest was midfield or uunplaced.

Nottingham bets today demanded special kind of horses, because it was Heavy Ground and Wetherby got Soft aswell. Ejadah was a good example of a Soft Ground horse. I was only very worried about the attitude of the horse, was so intensly keen before and in the race front ran and drifted to huge odds IR, punters thought this will fade, but they didnt know that this horse needs this ground and it battled to win trading over 50/1 always being in the fron of the race.Normally

keeness is a nogo

for me but on a short distance upto 1m2f on a deep ground its sometimes good if a horse gets a keen lead and has the ability to move on Soft.

Lie Forrit

was also a Soft ground horse, thin athletic with poweful front legs to make this Make all run today.

Las Verglas Star

also a Soft ground horse found one too god half a length.

Stagecoach Pearl

was very well in looks healthy and calm but found one closer and didnt like that softer ground, i thought its Good ground at that point.

Back on Bailys

in Kempton was a selection cause looked very healthy fit and athletic. Was blocked switched many times the lines and made a big laterun, but that race was wasted in this case.

8 Back and 3 Lay Bets.

Im still satisfied as I started of with a mistake first I made a bet in Brighton and then i backed a good looker despite being keen.I had two or three i think 8/1 plus horses finishing 2nd and trading under 1,5 BSP IR, that would have turned the tables by a lot and they will come in. Important is that they run well and not finish last. Im trying the next days to copy the chat here after the day. Biggest stake was 2 Units today. Sad was that my 12/1 bet

9,6 BSP 1 Unit bet traded under 1,33 giving it away late . In terms of calmness

was the standout today, if you watch the replay you will see that this horse was so calm that it raced his optimum today. I had an IR winner with

Art of Logistics

in Punchestown, that horse is capable of winning a big race this season, was bit keen in the ring but a standout on looks and settled backed IR early for 1,8s. Its a group horse and seems to have his act together this season. This race was poor opposition though no real strong form yet. But everything upto Group 2 can be a win here.

. No chance from a wide draw last time out in the Abbaye and in Ireland previous he got caught out for pace and got hampered. He was impressive beating Maarek at Cork and still improving, He is a big scopey horse with potential.

Plenty to take Maarek on with, as you say, lots of soft ground horses. Jack Dexters soft and heavy ground form is impeccable for instance. I’m going to throw my lot in with Cape Of Approval in that race, maybe a small bet on Mass Rally. He is reliant on softer ground, is not much behind Jack Dexter at his best and come forward again last week at York. The more of a test it comes the better. I backed him last week at 19/1 and also the last time he was at York at 16/1 so doing well for me this year

Unlucky with Balder Success taking – 5 Units way in one strike was travelling easy to win this price was 1,03 lowest and just an unconcentrated jump. Happy with the selection still as had the feeling would have won confident here as had today the advantage of being fit and calm compared to the winner who had a layoff to overcome and was keen.
