The White Stripes?

In the suggestions thing we did with the BHA a while back I mentioned would there be any possibility of painting a white stripe or cutting a grass verge (like you sometimes see at the winning post) across the track at flat racecourses, at the 2 and 1 furlong poles to assist fans of the sport with race analysis. A simple, cheap and easily accomplished task that would in some way mitigate for the continuing absence of sectional timing devices and TV angles that don’t show the furlong markers a lot of the time.

Seems like this suggestion has become bin-liner. Difficult to fathom why.

I don’t think it’s a bad suggestion but I reckon the problem will come when horses start jumping or jinking over it.
