It would be nice to get a thread going for the UFC that has grown rapidly in recent years to become the forefront of fighting in surpassing the likes of Olympic Wrestling or professional Boxing.
Having watched TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) a show based around nurturing novices through to a professional contract in the UFC aided by the tuition of current fighters who end up headlining a main event, a recent start has come to prominence in the name of Uriah Hall.
This guy has swept through his rivals like a knife through butter with devastation that has caused fear among his colleagues but also that of UFC president Dana White who has a fighter ready to go straight to the top of the sport, fast-tracking 2-3 years of progression that normally proceeds for a TUF winner.
He’s currently 2/7 to beat 21 year old Kelvin Gastelum who has been the surprise improver in the show utilising his body mass in a wrestling position to dominate his opponents but has also shown good hands on his feet but remains a mixed bag of tools rather than an excellent performer of a certain discipline.
Uriah Hall is currently 5/6 for a TKO or KO which is VERY likely to happen unless he’s been told otherwise to go easy on the kid Gastelum, it’s not often that you worry about the safety of fighters but there’s something about Uriah Hall that leaves a sense of fear about what he could actually do to a person through serious injury as a result of his sheer explosive power.

Love the UFC and hit my only bet last night which was a just above evens treble with Henderson, Mendes and Ndjokuani.
I think betting on the UFC can be extremely profitable if playing 2 fav’s at around the -250 mark in a double for around evens odds, I’m actually pretty damn certain of this and am going to be doing it nearly every event and record my results.
What do you think of the Jones vs Sonnen fight next week? I really like the Bisping/Belcher matchup and think it’s great for Bisping, he will have the quicker more technical striking and should be able to control where the fight takes place. He’ll out-work Belcher and take the decision.

I was right about Bisping
Tonight I like Hacran Dias (11/10) to beat Nick Lentz (8/11), Hacran is out of the same camp as Aldo and Barao and is very good all-round, was very impressed with his takedowns in his last fight and his control from the top position. The only worry is the fact that Lentz is a wrestler and could pin Dias against the fence for 15 minutes with the occasional takedown. However, I think Dias is too elite to let this happen and is pretty damn strong too, I can see him winning this fight in a couple of ways, either keep distance and use his great kicks to slow Lentz down, or he could take Lentz down himself and dominate the fight with ground and pound, he’ll keep moving to advance positions and will be more than happy to look for submissions too.
Overall, Dias is a class above Lentz in my eyes and will only have improved in his year off.
Oh yeah and fighting in front of his home crowd can only help this Brazilian prospect!

Well Dias lost, got sucked into a fight he couldn’t win and was too scared to throw hell for leather until the 3rd round which he dominated.
The greatest ever, Anderson Silva is fighting this weeekend, if I had a million in the bank I’d put it on him, can’t believe he’s around 2/5 (if I remember right) against a hyped up American. It shouldn’t even be close.
