It was a very long while ago when the "Swimbo" selections were posted here but for the uninitiated the selections were derived from name association, the original Swimbo backed a horse with the same name as his granddaughter.
For myself the germ of a system was born and my chosen ones were always either 1,2,or 3 in the betting forecast and now I wonder if only small field races would do better? Perhaps with a sensible staking plan!
For the fun of it: –
Sedgefield 2.10 DARK DUNE [b:1acegywg]LOST[/color:1acegywg] [/b:1acegywg]
Sadly at very short odds 1/2 and with only 4 runners.

April 4, 2014 at 10:55 #474339Good luck Bill, good to see Swimbo back
April 4, 2014 at 11:31 #474348Sometimes it can be worthwhile giving these oldies another go
VTC
especially if they can be improved but only time will tell if that is possible.
One a day, will help me to apply a cautious staking plan seeking just the one point profit from each selection, the problem being this is not the best time of year to start such systems as the NH falls away and the FLAT is not as yet settled and I soon lose interest when the points lost column gets too big.
DARK DUNE’s connection for myself being that my cousin’s surname was DARK and he sadly passed only a few weeks ago but I will find the selections where I can and perhaps I hope with happier connotations.

April 4, 2014 at 19:59 #474433Hey Bill.
Bob’s 4pp compy starts tomorrow, maybe an opportunity to test swimbo to the max and win the whole thing putting that elcartero firmly back in his postbox.Charles Darwin to conquer the World

Nathan
it will be impossible to find 4 selections in any one day.
I have checked out tomorrows cards and only sticking with the "Dark" theme can I find just the one for the day: –
Lingfield 2.25 DARK LEOPARD 1.5 @ 9/4 SkyBet
No selection for Sunday!Billy's Outback Shack
April 6, 2014 at 19:39 #474857Sunday April 6
Monday’s card at Windsor provided a choice of two of which I overlooked DARK AMBER in the 4.40 for two reasons, the DARKS has given me two losers and also the field is larger than that of my selection.
Windsor 2.40 GONE WITH THE WIND 1.50pts @ 11/4 Wm. Hill
Lost
If it wins my lost stakes will be recovered plus a small profit.
My rather perverse sense of humour along with an ever increasing and very severe anti-social problem pointed me towards my choice which I also hope will be "gone with the wind"
it stinks
.
3 losers and I am NO HAPPY

I don’t think Swimbo is all it used to be but I press on: –
Dancing Freddie may well have been a selection but Southwell and me are not the greatest of friends and so it looks as if it is yet another "Dark".
Carlisle 3.20 DARK GLACIA 6/4 bet365
A stake of 2.4pts may well clear up this mess I find myself in

April 8, 2014 at 19:26 #475022"SWIMBO" was dead and buried until I found s selection for Wednesday: –
Lingfield 4.00 OUTBACK TRAVELLER 3/1 BetVictor
2.5pts will clear the losses and get my nose in front
When and if a winner comes along I will kick this into touch being the sore loser that I am!

April 9, 2014 at 19:56 #475100I have found one for tomorrow at the Kempton Evening meeting: –
Kempton 7.10 TEIDE PEAK @ 3/1 with bet365 – 3pts should get me out of trouble.
My favourite winter holiday destination has always been Tenerife and when Mrs B and me took a trip to the top of Mount Teide the view to the ocean was so stunning I told her when I die to scatter my ashes there.
Sadly TEIDE PEAK sounded as if it ran no sort of race and I accept my losses but draw a line below this experiment and call it a day!

January 1, 2021 at 11:05 #1515966If nobody objects I thought it would be good to bump a few of billion’s systems up from time to time
Hope Mrs B can get bills ashes to Mount Teide when times are easier with travel
I’m flipping bills “Dark” selections to the legend himself
I’ll just do one a day on the days I can, the first thing I see with an indication of old bill will get the nod12.45 Musselburgh – Willy Nilly
“Silly Billy” Willy Nilly that will do..

Charles Darwin to conquer the World
January 1, 2021 at 11:45 #1515971Willy Nilly a non runner..
I wonder if that’s a sign from above
3.35 Musselburgh – Bullion Boss
Billion was a bank manager in his younger days, unless of course I’m thinking of someone else.
In which case we can pretend that it says Billion Boss and not BullionCharles Darwin to conquer the World
January 1, 2021 at 17:01 #151600210/1 Winner
thank you Bill…

up the baton from Bill
January 2, 2021 at 11:23 #1516115Thanks BigG,
It can only go down hill from that, what a magic feeling it was
I’ll keep the thread ticking over, doesn’t matter if ahead or in the redA quick look at today’s cards had nothing jump out at me but one got an eyebrow raise
Bill was always going on about his trips to Australia and I use to pull his leg about him having a big red boomerang. One at Wolverhampton whose sire is Australia and has a similar name gets the nod5.10 Wolverhampton – Australis
taking off the stake for the above has us on +9 pts
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
January 3, 2021 at 11:51 #1516240Australis won 8/15 returned 1.53 pts
puts us on +10.53 pts
I think bill would have left that one alone being odds on but that is 2/2
bill if you are reading can you shine a bit of magic BigG way, he doesn’t need it as he is top punter on these boards but a little nudge in his direction to kick start the engine would be welcomeCharles Darwin to conquer the World
