Did he? ? ?
Ahhhh jeez.

Thanks Mark.

Rather annoying as i have just spent a good bit of time going through it, and like stated above, i thought Possol had a very good chance.
So, slightly annoyed with that.
November 14, 2008 at 00:18 #189621Sorry for delay in response to Peruvian Chief’s question.
IMO the very fact that Jack The Giant ran third in the Arkle on ground that both the trainer & jockey said didn’t suit is one reason I feel he may be a Grade 1/2 class horse in open company.
That he could run so creditably with such an important factor against him indicated to me that given his ideal conditions he could be a tool.
Of course it is irrelevant now for this race but I think the Ryanair is his trainers goal. We’ll see.November 14, 2008 at 00:37 #189622No apology neccessary mate – have lost a minor amount AP but i share your belief in the horse and am fully confident of winning more when he wins in Graded conditions races.
November 14, 2008 at 00:50 #189623^^ thanks folks, will bet in euro and just changed enough sterling for living expenses (ie beer!)
November 14, 2008 at 01:31 #189626Revised selection following Jack The Giants defection is Don’t Push It. Was narrowed down to Don’t Push It and Ouzbeck, Ouzbecks lack of previous Class 1 victory left me with the O’Neill beast.
Don’t Push It really does fit every trend in the book, apart from being maybe a year older than ideal.
November 14, 2008 at 01:51 #189633As Peru and I were singing from the same hymn sheet with Jack TG and he is a NR I thought I’d follow Peru in with an alternative.
The fav has a whole stack in his favour except a stupid AP Price.
But I just don’t trust him for some reason. He is Grade 1 winner over hurdles and fences in novice company. In opencompany I think he might wilt in the bigger boys playground.
He may win but not a chance I could take at the price.
I love a juicey price and IMO the over priced horse is Ashley Brook.
He is a 10yo,which concerns me but he has not raced that much for one of his age and everything else is positive.33/1 BFNovember 14, 2008 at 01:59 #189634Definately a fair pick – see the previous Haldon Gold Cup thread for proof i also think the horse is currently on a more than reasonable mark.
The age is a concern, but he hardly looked regressive at Exeter. All the best.
November 14, 2008 at 03:23 #1896599/2 e/w suits me fine about Silverburn! The more i look at the race the more
he jumps off the page at me! All things being equal i cant see him out the 1st 4 and i cant see a single horse he should fear at these weights!November 14, 2008 at 03:35 #189660The only thing he has to fear is being tripped up by superfluous exclamation marks.
November 14, 2008 at 03:42 #189662So long as they are not planted near the fences!!!!!!!!!!

If Ashleybrook stays this trip, then I’m in the wrong game?
November 14, 2008 at 09:41 #189677I’m Surprised nobodys mentioned Private Be (33/1) from the Hobbs yard, or am I a fool…
If Ouzbeck is in with a shout, then surely Hobb’s charge is in with a greater one, getting an 11 pound pull for a 9 length beating on its reappearance. With the improvement you would expect to see next time out from a 9yo and granted he races less keenly than he did, I see him some way in front of Ouzbeck and makes huge appeal at 33’s
Ouzbeck backers beware.
.November 14, 2008 at 14:14 #189688Pardon my cynacism but have we got a Jim Bolger/New Approach scenario here regarding BARBERS SHOP.
Was not expected to run and consequently was available at 169/1 on Betfair. Now trading at around 8’s. Looks progressive and potentially well handicapped with the Henderson team flying.
Also a hold up horse. With Ashley Brook, Yes Sir, Imperial Commander and Patman Du Charmil in the race, it could very well be set up for something running off the pace.
Stan is a big price at 20’s too. Ran a nice reappearance race over an inadequate trip at Ascot. Coleman takes a valuable 3 pounds off, has course and distance form and ended last season seemingly improving.
They are my two against the field.
November 14, 2008 at 14:42 #189690I like Barbers Shop too but would be slightly concerned with his jumping. IMO would have won at the festival if jumping more fluently. Henderson’s other runner Fleet Street wouldn’t be without a chance having finished just behind BS at Cheltenham and at 33’s on Betfair is tempting. Of the rest Maljimar who has good form over C&D should run well. Will probably back two of the above so sods law says the one I don’t will hose up.
