I know Delegator has some entries at Royal Ascot but couldn’t be sure why he hasn’t been out yet.
Heard nothing about Evasive.
Anyone know if Patkai is running this year? Or Monsieur Chevalier?
May 30, 2010 at 17:55 #297667Any news on Overdose backed him for Ascot heard no news about him.
May 30, 2010 at 18:08 #297674Evasive was always a horse that interested to me.

I’ve been meaning to publish an interview I did with Sandor Ribarski earlier this month on my website – I still haven’t got round to doing it yet, but the gist of it was that I went to Berlin racecourse on May 9th as Overdose was due to run. Unfortunately, he was withdrawn after I had booked the flight, but I went over anyway and was delighted to speak to Ribarski at the meeting. He actually had 4 runners that day – a 2nd, two 3rds and a 4th prove that he is actually not just a one-horse trainer. We then got to the subject of Overdose, at which point he showed me a photo of Overdose and his hoof. I nearly cried – it looked awful, but Ribarski said it was much better now. I then asked him the $64,000 question – What is the plan for Overdose? Knowing I’m from the UK, he said ‘You’ll have to come back to Germany to see him this season. He’s just not fit enough to do himself justice in these big races in England. The plan is to stay in smaller races this season in Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia’. I also got the impression that the reason for this was that Ribarski wanted to keep Overdose unbeaten throughout his career.
On Friday, I saw that Overdose had been entered in a group 3 race in Berlin this coming Sunday. Unfortunately, he’s been taken out of the race today. But just when I though that was it, I’ve received some SENSATIONAL NEWS that has actually got a tear rolling down my face!! HE’S BACK!!!!
I can exculsively reveal (well, I think it’s exclusive, anyway!!), that Overdose is set to run this coming Sunday, June 6th in a race that translates as the Grand Prize of the Ministry of Agriculture. It’s over 6 furlongs (1200 metres) in Bratislava, Slovakia, and carries national Group 1 status, however this is generally regarded as international Group 3/Listed class. Overdose won this race in 2008, and this pretty much falls into line of what Ribarski told me earlier this month.
Having spent a few minutes in his company. I really like Sandor Ribarski. He’s a slightly rotund chap, doesn’t take the heat too well, is incredibly passionate when his horses run, and simply loves the sport. Blimey – I think we might be related!!!!
June 1, 2010 at 22:40 #298121I think Simon De Montfort ran in France in April. French Derby this weekend?
June 1, 2010 at 23:04 #298124Now this is a real longshot but does anyone know where James Given’s Tartatartufata has gone? (hope I’m spelling correctly)
I know she has been below form lately, so I assume the paddocks?

Well named then
June 8, 2010 at 23:22 #299589I missed all this talk of Overdose but was only thinking of him today; what happened on Sunday?
June 20, 2010 at 11:18 #302236There it is, Kez; might be some news on Darrens website, perhaps.
June 21, 2010 at 10:39 #302410Overdose, missed Ascot due to not being quite 100% from his injury, plans were scrapped of that engagement in Bratislava previously mentioned in this thread, and now trainer Zoltan Mikoczy says an x-ray showed no further problems after a re-shoeing, he was still sensitive and has missed a weeks work, he will unfortunately not be coming over to England for the July Cup, but the trainer does remain hopeful he can get him to england safely for the Nunthorpe and/or Beftfred Sprint Cup at Haydock. Mikoczy also said they may scrap plans for the Prix de Hampton at Maisons-Laffitte for a smaller 5f race in Munich.
