Cracking looking race at this stage
Pentland hills
Call me lord
Ballyandy
Darasso
Cornerstone lad
Song for someone
Ribble valley
Minella charmer
Eleanor bobDarasso catches the eye for me, really think he is potentially a proper grade 1 horse
He was pulled out due to the ground drying last time but checking the forecast for haydock that shouldn’t be a problem
Hopefully he is entered in final decs, I may even have a few quid on for the champion hurdle
January 13, 2020 at 17:46 #1479723I think by looking at last year’s result Darasso would receive weight in the grade 2 as he’s only a g3 hurdle winner. The ground won’t be a problem as you say, and as he was likely to run in the g1 at xmas bar the ground, i think he’s a likely runner here as long as it’s on?
Massive price IMO if so.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 13, 2020 at 23:24 #1479738Would pentland hills even run on heavy ground?
If I hadnt been burnt by him being a non runner over xmas I’d have already backed darasso
Il probably end up having a few quid on him tomorrow anyway
You look at some of his french form and it reads well, he beat janika by 7 lengths giving a decent chunk of weight
He is 25/1 nrnb for the champion hurdle, what I’m thinking is if he wins on saturday he will run and be a single figure price and if he loses he wont run and you’ll get your money back
Will see if the market is blue or red on oddschecker in the morning then decide
January 13, 2020 at 23:29 #1479740“I’m trying to run Pentland Hills but I’m not sure about Call Me Lord,” said Henderson, who expects the ground to be far from ideal. “It’s going to be very testing everywhere.”
The way henderson has worded that makes me think pentland hills may well be a non runner if the ground is heavy
January 14, 2020 at 14:43 #1479775Have taken some 6s on darasso and the bet for the champion hurdle with NRNB
January 14, 2020 at 15:29 #1479778I took 6s too, noticed PP/BF cut from 13/2 into 9/2. Might be nothing but still.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 14, 2020 at 17:03 #1479786Yes that’s the reason I took the 6s
Fortunately bet365 always hold their prices a bit longer than betfair/paddypower and skybet
January 16, 2020 at 19:08 #1479939FF, good news, Kevin Blake has selected Darasso as his biggest danger on Saturday. Say he’ll love the ground. So it sounds to me like he’ll be declared ok.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 16, 2020 at 19:57 #1479947I’ll join you lads with Darasso, but I’ll be happy to lose the bigger odds, and wait until he is declared. I think that he could end up the fav here.
January 16, 2020 at 20:08 #1479948I took the chance, but as his racing manager has spoken highly of him (Kevin Blake) and mentioned the race i’d be disappointed if he wasn’t declared….especially since KB has already spoken about the Hendo situation from last week lol.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 16, 2020 at 20:10 #1479949That’s a fair point Jack, enough for me to have an early bet at 5/1
January 16, 2020 at 20:37 #1479955Good news Jack
Iv had another small bet at 5s
January 17, 2020 at 04:15 #1479975They were talking about Darasso going 3 miles only last month.
So the race can go 2 ways. Either he will get left behind looking at present opposition which I see happening or connections didn’t know what they were on about and he goes close.January 17, 2020 at 08:33 #1479977He was declared for the 2m G1 at Christmas Mike but taken out as ground too firm. His last two wins were over 2miles. He relishes heavy ground.
He’s been tried over further a few times and I think that was a case of learning about the horse. I do think he’s more of a 2 1/2 miler probably but aren’t plenty. Not sure on this ground it’s a particularly strong race. 6-1 was too good to refuse anyway.Ps not saying he’s a surefire winner or whatever he has been off sometime and was receiving weight a lot of the time last year so he still has to prove himself- I think he will at some stage this year. Whether hes good enough to pick up a G1 I’m not sure yet.
Ruby just put him up for the CH @33s there were no 50 when aired.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 17, 2020 at 10:55 #1479984Youd think he is tailor made for the aintree hurdle
He could be like supasundae, slightly stuck in between trips, not a strong enough stayer for 3 miles not quite quick enough for 2 miles on gd ground
January 17, 2020 at 11:09 #1479987Agree FF- he’s declared anyway. 4 run. Pentland, Ballyandy and Cornerstone Lad the others.
