I do enjoy trawling through the forum archives because you are never quite sure what can be turnd up and if it could be a little gem.
However back in 2003 there was a posting for a one a day selection from one of the easiest systems imaginable.
Run through the days cards to find which horses is running soonest after winning LTO and that is the bet of the day.
I have just run through todays racing which took no time at all to mark the possibles at each meeting, I got to 5.55 Catterick and did not like it because it was an apprentice affair but CORNUS was the days most recent winner only 8 days before.
CORNUS WON @ 5/1

April 21, 2010 at 19:27 #291561Having just ran through tomorrows meetings there is a problem which ever way you look at it.
SURE JOSIE SURE
won today at
Perth
but has an entry for the
4.55
there tomorrow.
If it runs no horse can be turned out again quicker than 24 hours and I guess will become the selection. If it does not run we have another problem because there are two horses running after both won LTO 6 days earlier.
Perth 4.20 DE BOITRON
and
Perth 4.55 TILLIETUDLEM

Hi Billion,
No problem. Why not just: –
1. Pass if there’s more than one possible selection, or
2. Back all possible selections.
As for dodging the non-runner problem, why not simply list several potential qualifiers, then move onto the next if the previous turns out to be a non-runner?
Have you been piloting this at all? If not, I’ve been keeping Racing Post most recently since the start of the current flat season. Shall I do a trawl of the results, based on the relevant principles?

NEDZERS RETURN won on Friday following both losers and also went down yesterday.
Todays selection is TABARAN 3.05 Ludlow.
That is all the data I have and so if you can go back through the RP,s no matter how far it will offer up some help towards keeping or dumping. However the one I am excited about which I trawled from the past is the Beaten Favourite’s where I am 18 pts up in 5 days enjoying 7 winners from 12 but I must say I am still tinkering with it to find the best filters. Nevertheless it is worth a look.

THE ORDER OF THE BOOT

Sadly this one is bequeathed to the waste bin. It has lost money or at best it does not look as if it will ever be very profitable and simply not worth the effort.
Goodbye !
