I can’t? I tried fella.
It is very simple – you go to your post, click the edit button.
Highlight the text and replace with "I apologise for writing irrelevant rubbish"
Hope that helps?
Im using an iPhone, my laptops broken, therefore wasn’t as simple as that.

Should be deleted.
Totally agree – once again dragging the forum into the gutter.
It is small wonder some people don’t bother posting any more.
Why is it? I appreciate that itavinappropriate to the thread but it’s a rumour that "some" people may find interesting? I’m not particuarly interested in Reading you’re
threads about Ascot’s going everyday to be honest.Paul’s Ascot (and other day of race) threads are very much appreciated by many of us. They’ve made me money over the last week. Thanks Paul.
Value Is EverythingJune 19, 2010 at 11:11 #301945Right – it’s done – let’s move on.
June 19, 2010 at 11:18 #301947See that is why I complimented Mr Cattermole, I don’t want it to come across as though I am slagging him off.
This is half the reason I hardly post on here.

What is?
Can’t see anything wrong with your posts YM, didn’t think you were slagging Mike at all.Value Is EverythingJune 19, 2010 at 12:18 #301967Jeez!!
So what if there is slagging off………so what if the going is firm………so what if the going is soft………so what if the price of bread has gone up a pound!!!
Its a forum…..its opinions….if you dont like it dont read it
Simple really!!
June 19, 2010 at 14:34 #302008Getting back to the topic, it’s now an extremely tired old programme, eons past its sell-by date.
The stilted chumminess, the in-"jokes", the tiresome Bismarck spot, the anodyne emails, the pointless list of Scoop6 selections, the paper review (lazily read out a few random headlines), no real in-depth analysis of races, no attempt to discuss racing’s problems, the avoidance of controversy at all costs….
The current format needs to be torn up and they should start again from scratch.

I think you’ve summed it up really well.
June 19, 2010 at 16:40 #302046Agree,
Think it started to go down hill when the Tote started sponsering. Worshiping Scoop Six meant far less time to go over the big races. They need form analysts, focusing on the main races more. When Jimbo McGrath isn’t there, nobody seems able to explain the form book.
Value Is EverythingJune 19, 2010 at 16:58 #302048If anyone has questions about the Morning Line or C4 racing, why not ask Mike about it in the Q + A’s?

Or perhaps see if Corm can get Andrew Franklin to do a Q&A

Mike can "talk about all aspects of racing", including form. However, I doubt whether he’d call himself a "form expert", which was the point I was trying to make. Although not very well it appears.
Value Is EverythingJune 19, 2010 at 19:37 #302090If it weren’t for the sponsorship and advertising it attracts I doubt very much whether Channel 4 would continue to flog this dead horse of a programme.
They need to scrap this cosy semi-circle of presenters format, get into a studio with just two co-presenters of some stature able to put across the relevant racing news information knowledgeably and quickly not unlike say, for example, Chappers and Boycie; with a few short pre-recorded sound-bytes from trainers, jockeys etc.
I just get the impression there’s just a basic script framework within which they mainly ad-lib; whereas I reckon it needs to be much tighter and of no more than thirty minutes duration.

I quite like the ‘light hearted format’, there’s no way I’d watch it if it was just two presenters sternly reading out the news as you suggest. If all you want are facts, figures & news; they’d never be able to compete with the internet.
That said, it does need tightening up. I like a ‘chummy’ air but it just comes across as an ‘inner circle’ these days. Barry’s Bismark adds nothing, their Scoop6 selections are pointless & if one of them goes off on a tangent, you can forget about the whole thing for five minutes.
If I were in charge I’d start with the going info & non runners then an overview of the days races, a prerecorded interview with a jockey or trainer involved in the day’s Big Race as opposed to a guest in the studio getting random questions from four different people. A short discussion on some of the days runners & riders, a short ‘fun segment’ from Tommo, then a scan through the papers to see what the tipsters think.
And I’d give Tom Segal a job!
June 19, 2010 at 21:06 #302105Take out –
The Bismark – make it a tip (probably the same runner).
Non-runners – change to interesting RUNNERS – supplimented, in-foal, recently gelded etc.
Trivia questions.Mainly non-runners – I don’t want to know about something that is’nt going to happen.
