If you have ever played the Board game Totopoly you might know that the names of the 12 horses are taken from past Lincoln winners.
Here is one of them: https://youtu.be/gUqDHHLsWlk

I used to enjoy playing Totopoly. One of the other horses – Overcoat – is mentioned in the clip.
It is interesting to see the film footage of lost racecourses. I believe the grandstand at Lincoln still stands.
March 24, 2021 at 08:11 #1532134I noticed that too – Overcoat (red number 6 in the Board game).
I am determined to get Flamenco next time I play the game now – so impressive as you say!

Still got the board game although it’s decades since I played.
If memory serves, Flamenco was one of three black (most advantaged) horses.
The three black horses, three red, three yellow and three blue horses are not grouped / numbered in the order they won the Lincoln. So does anyone know whether the Totopoly horses were grouped / numbered by how good each Lincoln horse / performance was thought to be? Perhaps numbers based on their handicap marks?Value Is EverythingMarch 24, 2021 at 10:28 #1532148Lincoln Winners

March 24, 2021 at 11:35 #1532163Black horses had such an advantage you’d think they’d have made changes in order to make it more competitive.
Value Is EverythingMarch 24, 2021 at 12:02 #1532169My grandfather often told me of how he backed Jerome Fandor for a shilling each way.
The Totopoly winners all won the Lincolnshire Handicap. The race only became known as the Lincoln after the course at the Carholme was closed and the race moved to Doncaster.
