Happy New Year to all on here and lets hope those elusive winners continue to be unearthed. It would be nice to kick off with a winner but unfortunately

    Celestial Halo

runs first and i can only be hopeful that this fellow still wants it,if so he has conditions in his favour today so i will play the loyalty card one more time!

    £500 win

    Celestial Halo

    Officier de Reserve

My banker today will have to jump cleaner than the last time he ran around here but this fellow has a Rolls Royce engine inside his powerful frame, conditions are against him with the framing of the weights but hopefully class will prevail!

    £500 e/w

    Reve de Sivola

    13/2 Cheltenham,2,0pm

This fellow needs 3 miles now!

    £13000

This 3,10 is a tough race to crack but i reckon David Pipe is trying to hide one! Junior couldn"t hide behind nothing now as he"s been exposed as a capable sort,Buena Vista is being kept for March again,Ashkazar has too much weight but could still run well.I like the look of this

    Chartreux

,he could still be anything and today will show us if he is!

    £250 e/w

    Chartreux

    7/1 Cheltenham, 3,10

What a race, i should have had one of those tricast thingys!

    £14210

pipe had a 1-2-3 in that race . the 3 you mentioned . 850 the tc paid.
Ive had it with that knockara beau hes not that good really i thought he was. Im hearing a lot of noise about this Dance Island but surely the ground he wont like it but no 1 knows . Ive got a good feeling about this maktu . I just look for form and hes got fantastic form , what do you think?

Maktu is a stone better off with Synchronised over 3m but thats not putting me off Synchronised Simon! I wouldn"t put you off Maktu but he"s not for me!I have had a good word for

    Silver by Nature

even off top weight,my family in Scotland live near the stables and to a man wanted Campbell Gillies to ride! Anyone who backs

    Ballyfitz

will have their heart in their mouth as he blunders his way round!

    Knockara Beau

hasn"t ran to within 10lb of his RSA performance Simon and i still dont think he has had his ideal conditions, just watch him in something like the Midlands National at Uttoxeter,4 miles in heavy ground!

Dance Island’s not too threatening second against King Fontaine at a bigger price than Maktu, also bearing in mind his run agin Burton Port, prompts me to favour him over Maktu. Case’s quote is also persuasive to a degree.

But I worry that the rise in the weights of Synchronise may not be enough to stop him. I hope they are, of course.
You can afford the occasional loss, Oh King.

well ive had a change of heart . Ive had 70 win on dance island , That form with burton port and beating dream alliance by 10 lenths. It just looks to good to be true. I have a soft spot for Silver by Nature , He won me a big amount last year for me in the blue square gold cup. So now you have mentioned that and the trainer says in the weekender he has a fantastic chance going 1 better . Im all confused so im gonna have to have a saver on it. cheers

Hope for both our sakes, he wins!

I’ve had small amounts on 5, but if I had to narrow them down, I’d go for my early pick, Royal Rosa and our friend, Dance Island.

You have to find an angle in a field like this, don’t you? And they both seem to have or have had quality about their form and a good h’cap mark.

Nice to see your recent conversion to value paying off TAPK.

Ginge, when i price horses up i have to be honest they differ from the high st Bookmakers sometimes by a country mile and yet when you do it your prices are exactly the same as at least one of a professionally compiled bookmakers! Are you gifted or what?

Well, well well, look what I’ve just spotted ‘Charlatan’! The King of Foresight had your pants down even then exposing your sneaky little tricks regarding racepricing and thats from Dec 2010,almost 2 years ago! By the way this is another one of those ‘Losing’ threads you want to expose you sad Git! A mere £10k profit Ginge! Thanks to putting up

    Diamond Harry

for the Hennessey 6 months prior to the race! Legendary!

tb the first thing i do is go through a race pricing every horse i fancy in my head,it takes me 5 minutes! unlike Ginge who would appear to spend an eternity swingin the balls on his abacus from one end to the other! allegedly!

You "go through a race pricing every horse I fancy in your head", do you TAK? How come you worked out your mythical race to 148%, not 100%? At 148% you could think every horse in the field was value.

Exactly TAK, living on past glories. Of course you deserve some credit for a profitable thread. Many punters don’t manage that.

    But looking closer…
Take the original £3500 stake money out and the running total of £14,210 comes down to £10,710 profit
Almost broke in November, having to "keep your powder dry" for the Hennessey, where you got back £6925. That one race takes out almost two thirds of your thread profit, without it would be down to £3785 profit. Another win, Massini’s Maguire was £3000 returned…

I’ve told you in the past TAK, and you’ve agreed… That having one or two massive wins in a thread can sometimes cause a thread to be profitable through luck. There is of course no knowing whether this thread profit was "luck" or not, as it only went on for 10 pages. What punter hasn’t made a good profit in the space of just 9 1/2 weeks due to a couple of nice wins?

Yeah and as one well known successful punter said recently it’ doesn’t matter what % of a chance you think a horse has if you don’t back the winner who’s chance of winning is in reality 100% and the rest 0%…………its all about backing winners not value.

Everytime you do a book how many times do you get it right? Never!!!!

Here’s my book for the Champion Stakes and each runners chance of winning

    Frankel 100%

    Cirrus Des Aigles 0%

    Nathaniel 0%

the rest You can guess

The perfect 100% book or what?
