And sorry to p*ss on your chips, but there are a whole host of origins for this phrase, none more credible or substantiated than any other.

I used to love Chips. I always wanted to be the one with the dark hair as he always seemed to get the girls and the other one looked a bit weedy if you ask me. Cool sunglasses though.
