I can’t work this out Nathan, you’re a football punter, does it make any
    sense to you ?

I stuck 20 quid on a double, Man Utd to beat Man City at 15/2 and Rangers
to beat Celtic at 13/5. The double would have paid out over 600 quid. Both
kicking off at 3pm. Man utd were up 2-0 by halftime (Bet365 pay out if your
team is 2 goals in the lead) and Rangers v Celtic was 0-0. At that point I
think it was about 120 quid they were offering.

Into the 2nd half and Rangers score. Immediately it jumped to 324 quid and I
cashed out. After a lot of complaining from Celtic the ref eventually called
for VAR and after a few more minutes the goal was chalked off. Through the rest
of the 2nd half, it still showed me £324 in credit. I assumed they would take back
the cash at that point and my bet would carry on. Celtic scored on 90 mins and
when the game finished they did take the cash back. I thought that was underhanded
because it looked like if Rangers did win, they would still give me the cash out
amount saving themselves from paying out over £600 and if they lost I’d get nothing.
Two bites at the cherry I thought or have their cake and eat it.

Strangely enough I logged back into my account, and found there was now £133.88 in it.
    There was also a message………

“We are contacting you regarding bet no. …….. Placed at the odds of 13/5 on
Rangers (full time result Celtic v Rangers) which you cashed out. We have identified
that the cash out amount offered due to an incorrect price and as such, in accordance
with our rules, the bet will be resettled at the correct cash amount. Please accept our
    apologies for any inconvenience caused”

Now the way I look at it is that the bet is either settled at the amount offered
(£324) or more likely when the goal was chalked off they should have taken the
cash back out and let the bet run. Which to me would mean my bet was down as
Celtic scored in the last minute, winning the game.

Somehow they have come up with a half way offer of £133 which I have no idea
why, or how it was calculated. I thought maybe (unlikely) I might get the cash
out amount they offered when I cashed out, or (more likely) the bet was down.

I have never seen anything like that and just wondered, with your footballing
betting knowledge, if you could understand what they have done and how they
could have come to that amount. I took Rangers at 13/5 so they can’t change that.
    I’m at a loss

Hi BigG, I’m not someone that cashes out a lot other than when I play Mr Green up on the exchanges, where I back and then lay, so not really a cash out as such… luckily I have never encountered what you experience yesterday

    These are betfair rules

“Soccer markets – not suspending on the occurrence of a Material Event and rules relating to VAR
Not suspending on the occurrence of a Material Event and cancellations of Material Events due to VAR
If Betfair does not suspend a market on time for the occurrence of a Material Event, Betfair reserves the right to void bets matched after the Material Event has occurred. Voiding of these bets may take place during the event or retrospectively once a game is completed.
Where a Material Event is cancelled due to a determination made via a video assistant referee(VAR), Betfair will void bets as follows for such Material Event and the cancellation of it:
    Goals
If a goal is scored and subsequently cancelled in a game using VAR technology, we will void all bets between the goal being scored and the goal being cancelled by VAR.
If a goal is scored and then confirmed after a VAR review, no voiding will take place.
For the avoidance of doubt on the above, Betfair deem every goal to be reviewed by VAR.”

The problem with a site like BET365 is they should suspend the market when a goal is scored and not reopen it until kick off has been made, because until then VAR could come into play. If play started and then stopped for VAR then that would open a whole can of worms as its not in the rules.

I’m guessing bet365 have similar rules to that of betfair
I did look but couldn’t find it
if its the same they have you on T@C’s
its very messy and very bad on their part, I wouldn’t be happy if I were you and like you say if Rangers went onto win would they have giving you the cash out or full winnings.

Thanks Nathan, it certainly is a can of worms. I’ve thought a good bit more about it
and the only other set of circumstances i’ve come up with is that they have given me
the cash out that they would at the time of my cash out with Man Utd having won (2 goals
up) and Rangers v Celtic still at 0-0, they have given me the cash out at the time I
cashed out with the results as they stood adfter var. They were offering me about
120 quid at half time so maybe rangers price had dropped a little and the might have
    been offering 133 quid.

I thought they would scrap my cash out and continue with the bet open, but perhaps
they kept my cash out at that time and gave me the amount cash out would have been
with the goal chalked off. I suppose that’s possible. Damned complcated this football
betting, maybe I should stick to horses and golf :mail:

Thanks very much for looking into it for me :good:

Looking forward to next season Daz.. Klopp is a very hard job to replace but I like what I have read about Slot
Arsenal very good the last two years, I think they will go close again next season. One thing they do need is a little more squad depth but first 11 very strong. They had a bit of an easy ride regard injures and that can even itself out hence the need of a bit more depth. Arteta has done better than I expected

    One for tonight

    7/2 Fiorentina -1 goal £10.00

    -£165.00

It’s been a bit of slog throughout the season. Can’t say I have any real highlight but did have a few double figure winners so not all bad

I thought the Netherlands gave me a good run. I could have cashed out when they were 1 up in the Semi but its not my style
I won’t be doing a decade of the Circus thread… all good things come to an end and I feel it has run its course with having less time to commit.
I’d love to say its been enjoyable but its been a tad stressful
    Football eh
    bloody circus… :rose:
