Louis Romanet has issued an official apology in this morning’s Paris Turf. The race time was indeed given wrongly by 5sec 40!! Apparently they may have left the timer on the second winning post, which was used in the preceding race the Jean-Luc Lagardère. Oops!

Quote: from Prufrock on 7:32 pm on Oct. 3, 2006[br]There are an awful lot of issues regarding race length, dolling out and wind even before you get to the race times themselves. I reckon it’s worth the effort for a few of the best courses in Ireland and France, but I could understand if someone else did not.
Thanks P. Quite undestand the importance of rail movement, wind etc but have long assumed Timeform have a rep on-course for the big Irish/French meets to determine these factors, as they have here of course.

As the foreign pattern races tend to have form lines closely interwoven with those in the UK, I feel complementary timefigures would be a useful addition to TF’s foreign race coverage.

Promise no more quizzing you about your former employers.

I was in Halifax the other day so should have taken the opportunity to visit Timeform Towers but polite company, coffee and cakes in the majestic Piece Hall took precedence.
Ah, the Piece Hall!

    You made the right choice.

    Happy memories……
