We had better make the most of it because I believe next year is fallow.
Looking at the line ups, I haven’t heard of most of the acts but that does not concern me. It is meant to have a young vibe and in previous years there was legitimate criticism about it being a bit too middle of the road.
There was a music festival in my local park a few weeks ago. I had hardly heard of anyone apart from Natasha Bedingfield, The Sugababes and last day headline act Mumford And Sons (who were VERY loud – I could hear them quite clearly and my home must be about a mile and a half from where the main stage was located).
Watching the local cricket team on Saturday afternoon while just a stone’s throw away a large crowd was singing along to “About You Now” by the Sugababes was an interesting juxtaposition.

And you see Starmer trying to get a act banned from performing
Kneecap they are called not seen the full story on them.
June 25, 2025 at 11:04 #1734629I am not going! I will probably watch some of the television coverage but that is all.
June 25, 2025 at 19:03 #1734649‘Patchwork’ is widely believed to be Pulp. If it isn’t then whoever it is might be in for a bad time!
I don’t know much about Kneecap beyond the controversy but there’s no doubt it works. The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about and all that.
June 25, 2025 at 21:07 #1734661Looks like the Beeb aren’t showing Saturday’s headline act Neil Young due to him nearly pulling out saying the BBC’s partnership with Glastonbury was a “corporate turn off” earlier in the year. Was probably the only act I was going to watch.
June 26, 2025 at 22:14 #1734729If you’re in your teens and twenties and have paid the thick end of £400 for a weekend pass and find out Neil Young and Rod Stewart are headlining you’d be f’in livid!
Glastonbury has to be the biggest pile of horse **** imaginable these days!
June 27, 2025 at 00:07 #1734736It sells out in literally minutes every year, they could probably sell it twice over at an absolute minimum I’d have thought. I’ve never been but they must be doing something right.
There’s literally hundreds of acts over the weekend, you won’t even see the vast majority on TV, there’s something there for just about everyone. And that’s just the music, plenty else going on besides that.
June 27, 2025 at 00:30 #1734737Young was confirmed months ago and Stewart was announced not long after last year’s festival had finished.

What’s that saying about a fool and his money? 🤔

Agree 100%
Never seen the appeal of standing amongst a horde of squelching zombies that pong of piddle whilst listening to crap music.June 27, 2025 at 20:18 #1734782I’d wager that Glastonbury attendees have never seen the appeal of sitting around on the internet moaning about how shite it supposedly is when nobody is forcing you to go or even watch.
Time for bed granddad
June 27, 2025 at 21:10 #1734794Rubbish. Half of the kids who’ll be there will be sitting around on their phones.

June 27, 2025 at 23:27 #1734811The 1975 are absolute drivel though I’ll give you all that. Not sure if he’s taking the proverbial or not but the singer comes across a right tosser.
June 28, 2025 at 00:09 #1734821He did say that it was a joke and admitted to being an idiot but I suspect he’s still a right tosser. To be fair, they are putting on a decent show but the music is too bland for me. Last time I went to Glastonbury The Progidy and Pulp were headlining!
June 28, 2025 at 00:40 #1734822The Prodigy are on Sunday night (RIP Keith) and Pulp are allegedly on tomorrow. Make Glastonbury Great Again!
Meanwhile I’m sure our resident grumpy old men will enjoy this from the Torygraph. I think they’re being serious, if it was published anywhere else I’d assume it was satire.
