I am very keen on the chances of Rock Boy Grey in the 12.30 at Chelmsford tomorrow. It is a competitive field and it will take some winning, but I would take a chance on this progressive five year old being able to take off where he left off and continue his upward curve. He looks to have spent a good deal of his career racing over the wrong distance. He was 0-11 racing predominantly over seven furlongs and up to a mile. But on his first run back to six furlongs, he sauntered home spread eagling a field impressively. He has gone up 14 pounds over five races at six furlongs and he was very unlucky last time out. He pulled like a train through the first half of the race, but despite that down towards the final furlong he was still making headway on the bridle until he almost clipped heels with a runner in front and had lost ground. Once he got balanced again he ran on strongly full of running but his chance had long gone. He won over course and distance on his penultimate start and he has a good draw in stall six where he should hopefully get a good tow into the race. His rise in form has also coincided with the cheekpieces being fitted and a change in pilot tomorrow with Luke Morris can only be a benefit and he may just be better for more experienced hands.

2pt win Rock Boy Grey – 6/1 general
