How nice to see the old boy back in the winners enclosure at Haydock today after almost 4 years away. Battled his heart out in really testing conditions to finally prevail. He has spent much of his career battling away in decent events, and today has finally got his reward bless him.
The ride from Timmy Murphy was again brilliant. He never ceases to amaze me with his ability to galvanise a horse, especially when ridden from behind. Superb jockeyship.December 30, 2011 at 18:28 #384995It’s always lovely to see an old stager come out and leave all those young whippersnappers in the dust!
(or mud in this case!) Brilliant stuff!
December 30, 2011 at 20:15 #385008Great to see and what a good ride.
It never ceases to amaze me how little Timmy Murphy is used by other trainers. When it comes to settling a horse and getting one to jump I don’t think there is any better.
Probably behind McCoy and Walsh but much underused in my opinion but let’s not forget the horse and trainer who got him there spot on for the day.December 30, 2011 at 21:53 #385019used to be owned by the same owners as beau ranger …
December 30, 2011 at 23:36 #385032I thought today Timmy Murphy and Denis O’Regan showed themselves at their very best. Both are top class in my opinion.
Given top jobs both would excel!
