Spencer a laughing stock on Laughing Boy this afternoon at Ponty.
Disagree. Horse simply not good enough.

Dove certainly won the race well enough, Zarkava, but it’s impossible to say how far Laughing Boy might have pushed him for the simple fact that Spencer gave him too much to do.
Again.
He had to ‘quicken’ approaching the bend just to get in contention, and then had to ask for more to try and reel in the far more intelligently ridden leader. Just as he was beginning to stay on, Spencer decided to avoid the gap between the eventual second and third and switich to the inside, where he was promptly smashed by the runner-up.
Comical stuff.
Form an orderly queue to buy ‘what he has’, then form an equally orderly queue to get your money back.
July 9, 2009 at 09:52 #238653Yesterday the Dikler in the Post reported that Spencer got pulled over by the cops as he looked like an under aged joyrider.
Spenecr insisted he was actually ‘ a top jockey’ the cop told Spencer he liked a bet and then asked for his name when he was told it was Jamie Spencer the cop apparently told him
‘Jamie Spencer! You’ve cost me a fortune! Here’s three points’
July 9, 2009 at 13:56 #238681While things didn’t work out for him on the international stage during his year at Ballydoyle his day-to-day riding in Ireland was brilliant. I hardly remember him making a mistake and he rarely used the exaggerated hold-up tactics for which he has become notorious. The loss of that job seemed to have a huge personal effect on him and he has always seemed ill at ease with himself anytime I’ve seen him interviewed since, his interview with Carson in the jocks room before the Derby a case in point.
He used to ride a good handicapper for us in his formative days in Ireland and even then his talent was obvious ……… he seemed particularly shy and introverted and simply it was maybe the obvious case of too much too soon. I think a couple of years back riding at home and the more relaxed lifestyle that goes with it would be of huge benefit to him and maybe put him back in line for the big job again but given his family situation etc it seems unlikely.July 9, 2009 at 18:08 #238721i wish you lot were right about Jamie I backed First in command.Jamie knowing there was no pace took it up on a hold up horse…………
July 19, 2009 at 18:04 #240127I wonder how many winners Equitrack has ridden?
