365 be using it to mark accounts we both know that LS3.
Paloma Blue e/w the play for me. He stays well and wants a good pace, so should enjoy this. Davy is some pilot round Cheltenham can only see his price shortening between now and start time.
March 3, 2018 at 23:14 #1344705They can mark it again all they want, aslong as if he runs they pay it out
March 4, 2018 at 02:10 #1344714They only allow me 2p on horses on 365, did let me put a fiver on a dog at evens a couple of months back though and it won, tried to put a fiver on another dog in the next race but they said I could have 5p on it :( do they think I’m some horse and greyhound extraordinaire or something?! To be honest I’m probably down in the long run on 365! Guess I turned it around at some point and they didn’t want to risk having me get all my money back. Really moral firm that lot!
March 4, 2018 at 08:35 #1344734Something not right with this Samcro bet, but could not resist any longer
March 4, 2018 at 16:09 #1344767They’ve limits on it now.
Just read lost soldiers very thorough horse by horse preview there, well written sir. Genuine question though: how come times / speed don’t feature in the analysis of most here? It trumps form assumptions in lots of cases, e.g. Getabird has the highest time figures of any novice hurdler – the clock said that beating of mengli was top drawer. Clearly it’s one input as opposed to be all and end all but I’m surprised most posters rarely make reference to the clock at all
March 4, 2018 at 17:06 #1344770Interesting what Gordon Elliott said about Mengli Khan in his stable tour he said he thought he ran him too soon last time and things might be different now he’s had a break. Still says Getabird will be hard to beat but also said different track different day who knows.
March 4, 2018 at 17:40 #1344772Has there ever been a Supreme that wasn’t “interesting”? This is certainly the usual fascinating contest.
I echo the idea that Kalashnikov will end up needing further in time, and I am also mindful of the poor record of horses that ran in The Big Handicap Hurdle At Newbury In February. I still think Getabird is a worthy favourite, and I’ve had him in multiples. However, I also want to find something a bit bigger in the market.
I like the idea of Summerville Boy, but I can’t help but think that he will have his work cut out here. Meghli Khan is a fascinating runner, although he is held on form. But I can’t help but be a tiny bit tempted by First Flow. He doesn’t seem to have done much wrong at all over his runs over hurdles. Yes, I know his trainer has said he might not run again this season, but it wouldn’t be the first time a trainer has talked shite ahead of the festival, would it? Anyone else thinking of him?

So don't run, just like the others always do
March 4, 2018 at 19:24 #1344780I’m finding it hard to get away from Getabird, was so impressive winning LTO and really looked like the likes of faugheen/Douvan in their novice hurdle careers, I guess the argument is that Getabird is just a bird short as I don’t remember faugheen or Douvan prices for Cheltenham when they were novices but think I’m right in remembering They were bigger than 6/4 and Vautour was around 4/1 wasn’t it for his supreme – it was the supreme he won wasn’t it? I was there that day so should remember really, was that the day or was it the following year that Annie fell? Was there 2 years running and pretty sure it was Douvan and Vautour that won the supremes when I was there. Going on a bit of an aimless rant here sorry for de-railing the convo.
March 5, 2018 at 10:27 #1344828Alot of money around for samcro, speculative money of course, exchange money will just be the people that missed bet365s price, nothing official.
If he somehow where to run i hope “marking accounts” was worth putting him @14/1, hes now 5/2 with them, must have an awful looking book atm.
March 5, 2018 at 10:30 #1344829£33 cashout was offered for every £10 bet @14/1, they quickly shut it off after about an hour. Back to level stake for cashout. Crazy.
March 5, 2018 at 12:55 #1344843Played Slate House 33/1 NRNB in the week. That Summerville Boy/Kalashnikov form is rather tasty..
March 9, 2018 at 11:06 #1345396If Sharjah is definitely gonna line up in this, then who will ride with Walsh on Getabird?
Will Townend return from injury in time for cheltenham?
I don’t think he will get his ground, but looking forward to seeing him in a fast run race nonetheless….if he does run, am on at a couple of nice prices, and think if you put a line through his last run, his current price is far too big to me.
Mullins / Ricci 1-2 in the first!March 9, 2018 at 11:10 #1345397Yep; Sharjah will need a strongly run race; I’m on at 25s each way. Would be happy enough with a place. Just hope the ground is half decent. Good to Soft should be fine.. Will all depend on how much rain falls this weekend
March 9, 2018 at 11:21 #1345398Who do you think will ride?
March 9, 2018 at 11:23 #1345399I keep asking myself ‘if Getabird is a hype horse and Kalashnikov had too hard a race last time out, who picks up the pieces?’. Getabird could be the real deal but is easy to oppose at the current prices. There is no escaping the woeful record betfair hurdle winners have in this race and Kalashnikov had a tough one, so I am looking through the market and repeatedly landing on Mengli Khan.
March 9, 2018 at 12:38 #1345406The thing is though, Charlie, Betfair principals have a fine record in this race of running really well. Not winning is very far away from woeful. The Betfair Hurdle double has not been done but both My Tent or Yours and Get Me Out Of Here were 2nd here after winning at Newbury. Ballyandy 4th here as 3/1 jt fav. Recession Proof 5th here in 2011. Darlan was 2nd here 2012 after being unlucky at Newbury.
Kalashnikov must be very tough to come back from what looked a hard race at Sandown to win the Betfair quite easily, and it’s not as though he’s a short priced fav here.
March 9, 2018 at 13:33 #1345412On Kalashnikov, i’ve always thought he’s looked more of a stayer for me long term.
Not that it particularly matters here, as stayers can win the race….just something for the future..
I like the idea of backing a couple at bigger prices…possibly, Sharjah, Slate House AND Paloma Blue at thsi stage….
