Always thought this horse could cause a stir at top level, It will be interesting to see how he fares at Navan, some decent opposition IMO, Laganbank and Il Fenomeno both have a bit about them. 33-1 seems a pretty good price none the less and hopefully he bolts up and them odds will quickly disappear. As usual though this race has so many potential winners , Waheeb and Steps to freedom look the cream of the crop so far to me but it is a race favourites dont usually go well in- Dunguib and Cue Card the most recent to fall victim of favourite tags.

Like the Irish horses Lovethehigherlaw and Steps to Freedom, preferance for the latter, who should relish the step up in trip judging on todays performance.

JJM, Steps To Freedom won over the Supreme distance yesterday.

Apologies, thought was over 2m 4f, seem to win with plenty of hand, will defo go off shorter on the day.

    Dandino

certainly the one catching my eye in the betting at the moment at 20’s generally…

Class on the flat and looks the type who could make up into a quality recruit to the NH game, especially under the guidance of Mr Henderson!

If it wins it’s debut in anything like good style I think it could go much shorter than 20’s….

    I took 33/1 about

    Hazy Tom

after Sea Of Thunder’s unlucky fall at Cheltenham this afternoon.

Charlie Longsdon’s 6YO has won all four of his starts under rules and defeated Sea Of Thunder by 12L last time out, albeit over two miles.

His overall form is pretty solid and he has been entered in a Grade 2 at Ascot next Friday.

Waaheb caught the eye and I put it in my 10 to follow. Won 3 of its bumpers and 2nd on its last run(just caught last few strides) on its last start. Looks a good recruit for JP Mcmanus and he has left it in training with Dermot Weld.

    10/1 ante post.

One that seems to have flown under the radar is Donal McCain’s Cinders and Ashes. He disappointed him somewhat in the bumper last year but showed his faith in him wasn’t misplaced when hammering the well fancied Keys over hurdles at Ascot.

    Cinders and Ashes

is a horse with a big future and can still be backed at 20/1

After the Christmas racing I wouldn’t be surprised id Dylan Ross proved to be the surprise package of the Supreme. I’m in danger of following this horse off a cliff and he has a severe case of the Harchibalds but a strongly run race could be the making of him.

Hurdygurdyman says’s ‘Grandouet is still on the bridle’, I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear ‘Dylan Ross is still on the bridle’

I am very keen on Galileo’s Choice, for me he will go close and I have a very nice price about him but its win only, so all or nothing, so will cover the bet on the day.

The 10-1 quoted for Captain Conan is very poor value. He won today because, i think, he was fitter and more suited to the conditions that his rivals. Big, long striding horse in soft going up that hill.

As a chaser in the making in the Supreme i think he’d be outpaced.

He looks ready to jump fences already.

Surely he won today because his rival decided to head off to the stands as soon as the rail ran out!

Fitter? how could a horse who hasn’t run since June be fitter than 2 winning horses who ran in the last month?

Conditions perhaps, but that was a class act from a fairly inexperienced horse. He’s actually got to the front before the commentator said he did or beore the rail ran out but he’s got very tired himself, his stride visually shortening 50 yds from the line and allowed the other horse to get back to him.

He’ll come on tons for that and if he met that horse again in a fortnight he’d beat him in a canter IMVHO.

You’re either a wind up merchant, a troll or just don’t understand horse racing. Posts often contradict one another in reasoning.

Henderson’s horses are notoriously fit first time out.
Horses that have run are not guaranteed to be fitter when they run again as niggles, injury etc can affect them and they miss work. Some trainers use a race to improve a horses fitness. Horses can also be carrying illness.
Prospect Wells doesn’t like soft as much as he does better ground, but he didn’t appear that fit to me and his poor running is not due to the soft conditions alone.

It’s not as simple as " Well that horse has run this season but that horse hasn’t, so the former must be fitter "

Captain Conan won it on ability not a fitness edge. There is only so much you can do with them at home and would say he would probably come on for that. I would say he was slightly fortunate with the 2nd running around. Looks like a proper chaser in the making and you would have to think anything he does this season is a bonus. Not the sort of horse who screams out Supreme but I won’t be writing him off. That was a very pleasing run fto for the trainer this season.
Actually backed Colour Squadron today & was pretty gutted he couldn’t stay straight. He’s a pretty good yardstick for the Supreme at the moment and ties up quite a lot of form.
