Massaini Maguire ran vey well after long lay off and could be one to keep an eye on for this race has won at Cheltenham a couple of times also!!

Just had my 1st AP bet for this race, i took 16/1 on the above named horse (it’s only a small bet) not sure if its his intended target but i like they way he won last week and with his previous Cheltenham form consists of a win against the raved about TIDAL BAY so at the moment this looks like a bit of value if he lines up!!!

I would like to see Massini’s Maguire tried over 2m, as Tidal Bay was last year. Can’t put my finger on it but something struck me in his re-appearance to make me think this.

Having taken an early price about Gone To Lunch for the NH Chase (for a mere handful of kopeks, it must be said), I sincerely hope he swerves the RSA for the 4-miler – he looks an out-and-out galloper that will be well suited by the stamina test.

Yeah have to say I agree with you there Grasshopper, having seen him just win under A P Mcoy I now think thats a far better chance then the RSA which I previously thought would be better.Well actually I do have slightly mixed feelings.Hes alledgedly gonna be having a spin over hurdles around christmas time so well ahve to wait and see what questions that throws up.

Now "Gone to Lunches" race yesterday Nov 27th GPG NOVICES CHASE:

I have watched the race several times and I am fairly convinced you are right there. The placed horse TARTAK I thought could of been ridden better and didnt do to badly off 138 so reckon he might be worthy of a bet next time out maybe at a similar level though.

Dont know if any one saw the race or has any views on it.

Was Gutted that The Tother One fell surely he would of gave "Gone To Lunch" Some thing to do under Sam Thomas! Would of been a great finish had he not of fell "shame"

Add Trafford lad to the mix because 21/2m is on the short side for this fellow, a solid performance today, he basically outstayed pady, who in my opinion is an Arkle horse anyway! Tranquil sea made too many errors at this level and needs more time, but i certainly wont write him off yet.
Fiveforthree is the one horse i am still looking forward to seeing as at the moment there is no Tatenen in the Sun Alliance ch and its still wide open
Wichita lineman and Ballyfitz have impressed me most up to now. I just have a nagging doubt about Massini"s staying 3m! Kicksforfree is defineately off the 3m list.

Just to follow on from the Big Races Discussion, I don’t think Trafford Lad will win the Sun Alliance or come close to it, I wasn’t impressed with the race at all today, think Irish hopes lie with Cooldine, Fiveforthree and maybe Siegemaster if he gets his jumping together,

I think Wichita more than Gone To Lunch would be better suited by the NH Chase. Gone To Lunch will be powering up that hill, will love the undulations and is a very high class individual, more than some are giving him credit for whereas the longer race and more sedate early pace would suit Wichita’s sometimes laboured style of running.

Kendal, a very interesting observation there about Wichita, i very nearly agreed with you about the 4m, but then i looked back at his hurdling form,
it doesn"t get much better than that, too good for a 4 miler in my opinion.

The one bright note about this season’s RSA is that it is going to be extremely competetive and there is going to be a huge number of talented horses swerving it for the NH Chase, which should make the four miler one of the best renewals we have seen for a very long time and one of the highlights it should be. That makes me very happy indeed given that ALL four milers (we have two this week!!!) are my lifeblood and we so very nearly lost the Festival four miler despite the cavalcade of big race winners that have run in it over the years (I listed them on a post last year and it was quite quite incredible).

Nevada Royale is one that interests me. Had a huge reputation last year & we’ll find out more when he runs in the novice chase at Exeter tomorrow. I am going to have a few quid on before then

He won well at Exeter but is now out for the season :(

Was also sweet on Tranquil Sea before Sundays run, but not after

    Kendal,
The above comment looks even more interesting having just watched Wichita "think" about winning at Chepstow just now! certainly looks like 4m would suit!

I think Winchita would be fine over the Sun Alliance trip bearing in mind the way he beat Air Force One at the Festival and that horse is fancied for the Gold Cup.

I also think he would go very close to winning if kept sound,

WL looks to have over a stone to find, not quick enough and not a good enough jumper. Might have a squeak in the 4 miler.
