Another winner Grass, well played, especially getting the 7-2. No bet in the race for me, but Liam won well, and I might take a chance on Like An Open Book in the future, might have a couple of races in her.You were right. I didn’t back her LTO as Mystic Theatre was in the race, then was bit put off by that run so didn’t back her today. Oh well.
September 7, 2017 at 17:42 #1316851Happy enough with her today Grass, and happy enough to put up a future winner. Wanted to bet her on her own today, but keeping stakes to an absolute minimum, and only got her at absolute minimum stake perms. It’ll be a 14-1 shot that got away if Wee Tiger can’t place in the 1855. If Wee Tiger wins it’ll be a nice day, but at the same time, nothing to write home about either.

Tell me about it…Kilbarry Marien won at 14s today without me- I backed her a race too early. Hate it when that happens! Flipside is that I haven’t had any bets over the past couple of days and most of the ones I was interested in got stuffed so on balance, best I stayed away.
September 7, 2017 at 22:11 #1316878Had a bit on Supreme Vinnie in the feature 3m chase at Kilbeggan tomo. Was hoping for better than 10s but other people (including online Racing Post racecard previewer) like him too it seems. Took some anyway. There are a few others I like but will content myself with one, at least for now.
September 8, 2017 at 17:53 #1316957Vinnie must have a good chance Grass, and still a fair price, so he might be more than enough for you, good luck.
Nice little race that, and I’ve had a go on King of Brega at 16’s. In the 1755, I like Sir Abbot, and Bitview Colin, and I just slightly favour the former at 20’s. Finally, Chesterfield King in the last is a bit of a stab in the dark, but I’ll risk 5’s.
September 8, 2017 at 23:54 #1316999I liked King of Brega too but assume ground was the cause of NRs. Sod our Irish weather! Well done with the return on Sir Abbot assuming you had him EW.
September 9, 2017 at 00:13 #1317001Had a go on Shady Glen at 9-2 in the 3rd Stratford tomorrow, hoping that running at the low end of the weights (due to rise in class) will help this little horse.
September 9, 2017 at 00:20 #1317003Sitting the jumpers out tomorrow Grass, good luck with Shady
September 9, 2017 at 00:21 #1317004Yeah, had a few quid on him each way, so very happy with the 20’s. Definitely one to bear in mind over the larger obstacles. Very lucky tonight, as I was only betting because King of Brega & Cecil Corbett were both in the 1825, so an unexpected, but welcome profit.
September 10, 2017 at 14:25 #1317173Listowel is a smashing card, and I’ll be with Kylecrue in the 1700, and though it is a hot race, I’ve had a go. I managed to nab 10’s, and I’ll have a “fun” bet on Slainte and Thanks at 33’s+ in the 1550 ew. He has “slivers” of form, which will make me risk a small go on him.
I’ll enjoy the rest without a bet, but I will be cheering on The Game Changer in that decent looking hurdle.
September 11, 2017 at 12:48 #1317291Well Red Giant has his right handed track and extra distance that I was looking for. But is short enough at 5/2 for a horse that has toiled in last the last couple of times. I haven’t backed him.
September 11, 2017 at 23:07 #1317327My betting thumb is getting itchy again but I’m too lazy to study, so damage limitation with 10p trebles on
Going for Broke, Prussian Eagle and Lion of Lackabane at Worcs
Capital Force,Law Girl +Sand Fly at LisBacked Capital Force 9/4 win the beginners at Listowel – hope HdB has taught him to jump- don’t know if the Mullins horse will jump those fences out of that ground and Roconga might need better ground.
Also backed Inis Meain at 25s and Bold Emperor at 28s in hopes that they can handle heavy. EW singles and double.
Good luck tomorrow
September 11, 2017 at 23:27 #1317331Added Prussian Eagle as a single win only- 12s looked good.
September 12, 2017 at 17:18 #1317390You must have been kicking yourself with Capital Force, Grass. Unlucky
September 12, 2017 at 17:29 #1317391Final go on the thread for me tomorrow Grass.
To go with Tempestatefloresco, who has been declared, despite obvious ground concerns, I’m going to side with Potters Point at 9’s, and I’ll make A Toi Phil a saver to the penny.
The race after The Kerry National is really interesting for me. The Albert Bartlett isn’t a race I spend too much time on Ante-Post, but I have 2 big fancies for it at the moment, in the shape of Young Turk & Fabulous Saga, and they both meet up here. Can’t wait to see how they get on with each other (no doubt they’ll both get beat now lol)
September 12, 2017 at 23:42 #1317429Aye Capital Force travelled and jumped well and was unlucky but the same could be said of Bamako Moriviere- he jumped much better most of the way than he has done before. Ah well they’re there to be jumped. I’d’ve been more annoyed if Law Girl had won and I discovered after work that my treble had gone splat with CF (I didn’t bet Sandfly or Going for Broke singly just on those boredom trebles). Glad to both those nice young chasers get up along with Roconga. Unlike poor game little Fire In Soul who I see was on BlackGold’s memorial list this week. Poor little chap, I liked him. Relieved Alamein’s name was absent- I hadn’t been able to find out if he was OK that day.
I agree that hurdle race is a good one and my only non-National bet tomorrow is Young Turk. Four nice horses there in that race. Hope the last of the summer jumpers are lucky for us.
September 12, 2017 at 23:48 #1317430It would be great to go out with a bang Grass
