Doncaster 11.50 + Doncaster 12.55, Brennan’s only rides of the day. Rides Always On The Run + No Duffer for Tom George.
9/2 + 9/1 respectively, 50p EW double.
Cheltenham 3.35, Morning Herald
20/1, 50p EW
Doncaster 12.55, Knock House
4/1, 50p EW
Doncaster 11.50, Wells De Lune
7/2, £1
Cheltenham 12.40, Whisper
3* bet at 6/1, £1.50 EW
Cheltenham 2.25, Wholestone + West Approach
50p RFC
Cheltenham 1.15, Cold March
I make this a ‘certainty’, and I am allocating 10% of my original bank. 10/1, £4 win + £3EW at 1-2-3 1/4. Money back if he places.
Cheltenham 1.50, Aso
4* star. £2EW at 8/1, 1/4 1-2-3-4 (Skybet paying 1-2-3-4-5 1/5th)
£1EW double on Cold March and Aso at those prices
Still got a couple more bets I’d like to do.
£24 staked in this post. £66.13.
December 9, 2016 at 20:39 #1276264Several things to consider in the Bula. The New One’s record when fresh + his overall record, the lack of 1s next to MTOY’s name, Old Guard reverting to hurdles and running in the race he won last year.
I’m already very big on MTOY for the Champion Hurdle. I have something like £200 on him. Backing him tomorrow, seeing him disappoint + having his Champion Hurdle status in jeopardy would not be a clever move. But he’s by far and away the class horse of the race + should really be winning this. He’s so reliable – he’s never finished outside the top 3 and that’s exactly what you want to side from a horse you’ve got on your side, reliability.
Can’t back The New One and make profit unless he wins. Giving 8lbs to MTOY is a big ask. But he’s only ever been beaten in Grade 1 hurdles, and once to subsequent Grade 1 winner At Fisher’s Cross.
Old Guard has improvement in him. He has a shout I’d say.
But Mister Mayagi has no chance whatsoever. He’s completely outclassed. He’s half the price of Old Guard, which is just stupid. He can’t win, nor can he place. I’ll be place laying tomorrow. 5* bet.
December 9, 2016 at 20:42 #1276265cold march dont like cheltenham, flat track horse, should have won this last year but bottled it
December 9, 2016 at 20:43 #1276267£20000 with that starting bank extremely optimistic! Gl
I agree, Theo. But I believe patience + a striking mentality can bring about very good results.
Geezus. When did you develop a striking mentality??…Somewhere on that round the world trip you was going on eh? Good luck Zark you will need it going by your past contributions on here.I’ll give you till Xmas before you’ve lost the lot.

Ground went a bit too soft last year IMO.
Edit – You could be right. He’s been to Cheltenham twice; PU + 6th. But over 2m4f + on soft ground. All his other starts have been RH. We’ll learnt something tomorrow either way.

Mad-know-it-all haters gonna hate. Maybe I will lose the £100, but I’ll have only lost £100 and I can easily start again.

ONly trying to help Pal, look at course he runs good on. Owner probably wants a day out at Chelters.

Just watched the race again. It’s weird. I can’t even see him on-screen 2 out or even 1 out, but he finishes like a train to finish 6th. Could’ve been too young. He’s only 6. Anyway I appreciate a fresh pair of eyes on him, I’ve been waiting for him since January so could’ve become biased along the way! I was looking at an angle just the other day actually, and I wonder if he could fit in nicely with that. Will reveal at a later date :D

I respect anyone who has the balls to have a go in DLAPS Zark…We are all setting ourselves up for a fall here but when it comes off its a great feeling..I hope you experience that feeling.Stick at it.
December 10, 2016 at 03:05 #1276351Cheers. Thought it would help me take it more seriously as well, as well as making it easier to go back later and figure out where I’m going wrong.
You’ve got a couple of nice AP bets for the Caspian. VV or Bouvreuil place = profit. Would have thought you’ve got a very good chance of cashing in at least one of those. Wouldn’t have thought you’ve got a winner though, unless Bouvreuil somehow pulls it off.
December 10, 2016 at 12:30 #1276467I woke up a bit later than I hoped so I’m a bit out of sorts right now. I just missed Gosden’s maiden winner at Wolverhampton so that’s annoying.
A few more bets;
Cheltenham 3.00, The New One to place at 2.14, 5* bet. £5
Lingfield 2.30, Mister Grez, 2* bet, £2 at 6/1
Cheltenham 1.15, Un Beau Roman, 4* bet. £2 win at 24.0, £2 place at 6.0
Cheltenham 3.00, lay Mister Miyagi at 5.2 to win £2.50
Cheltenham 1.50, place lay Aloomomo at 3.0 to win £2
Cheltenham 1.50, Frodon/Aso 50p RFC
Cheltenham 1.15, Un Beau Roman, Cold March + Vaniteux, 50p CFC, 25p CTC
Doncaster 1.30, Aristo Du Plessis, 50p EW
And finally…
Cheltenham 12.05, Defi Du Seuil/Domperignon whatever
Cheltenham 12.40, Different Gravy/Whisper
Cheltenham 1.15, Cold March/Un Beau Roman
Cheltenham 1.50, Frodon/Aso
Cheltenham 2.25, Wholestone/West Approach/No Hassel Hoff
Cheltenham 3.00, MTOY/TNO5p 6-folds, which I believe makes £4.80
December 10, 2016 at 12:49 #1276476Doncaster 11.50 + Doncaster 12.55, Brennan’s only rides of the day. Rides Always On The Run + No Duffer for Tom George.
9/2 + 9/1 respectively, 50p EW double.
Doncaster 11.50, Wells De Lune
7/2, £1
Cheltenham 12.40, Whisper
3* bet at 6/1, £1.50 EW
EW bet to nothing that was, plus Different Gravey’s previous poor performance at Cheltenham + apparent dislike of going LH. Great start.
Wells Du Lune lost, but Brennan finished 2nd in the 11.50 so that EW double is still going.
I’m +£10.25 from these 3 bets so far.

Minus the lays, £22.30 staked. £43.83 remaining.
+£14.25 from Whisper, -£1 from Wells Du Lune, +£16.58 from my in-running back of No Duffer, + £2.66 for the EW Brennan double. It’s +£29.83 + £2.66, so +£32.49? Add that to my balance and I’m looking at £76.32. Big race coming up now.
December 10, 2016 at 13:10 #1276491Just found a 10p EW Lucky 15 +25p EW 4-fold I did with Ladbrokes.
Whisper 6/1
Cold March 10/1
Aso 8/1
Mister Grez 8/1£72.82
December 10, 2016 at 13:15 #1276494Doncaster 12.55, Knock House
4/1, 50p EW
-£1, so £71.82.
