I wouldn’t back her at 4/1 either, all I’m saying is that she seems to have the market momentum tonight and FF looks more likely to drift. As I said in the first post on this thread (when he was 16/1) I’m on the Doctor.

So, what’s the going likely to be, they say it’s supposed to be dry at Donny tomorrow?

Could it get a bit "tacky", and if so, who’s likely to be least inconvenienced by that? Looks like it’s going be a real stamina test.

Aha! It was you on the Doctor.

I was thinking this morning how well in some of the punters on this board will be after taking the Doctor at 16/1 months ago if he wins.

RP oddly think he might not stay though..

Why is it odd to suggest a horse that has shown a tendency to race freely at a mile and a half may not stay an extended 14f when facing ground much softer than his best form has been gained on.

Im not saying it’s on like that I’m just suprised that theyre the only ones to come out with it thus far.

I think he is 50/50 to stay tomorrow but think he’s got a better chance than the other Stoute runner Conduit.

The reason I think he has a chance though is because I can see about 8 or 9 in this line up that will also struggle to stay on past runs

How about this interesting bit of info on Unsung Heroine for you all.

Since Unsung Heroine won a 1m4f at Cork on soft two of the first five home have been sent out again. Both have been sent out over 1m6f and have both were placed. Another from the first five home, Ezima, is campaigned at the Leger trip in Ireland tomorrow and has a 100% success rate at the distance.

Of the rest from the line up there are three others campaigned at 1m6f since, two of which have been placed (66% placerate). Two of the line up have also won on heavy ground at 1m4f since the race.

It’s looking deep into some things that dont really need to be looked at but you’d think from that race that Unsung Heroine has a credible chance tomorrow.

Also, just for informations sake, Look Here and Doctor Freemantle last met as 2yo’s in a 1m maiden contest at which a 16/1 Look Hore beat a 1/3 Doctor Freemantle by 2.75 lengths.

Boring I know, but Frozen Fire looks a lock to me.
Lightly raced, improving type, arguably the best form in the race, and looks sure to find more for the step up in distance. J Murtagh also misses an armchair ride in the Irish version to do the steering here.
Only trouble is the ‘Magic Sign’ are longest on him, though even that’s unlikely to be the negative it often seems.

Seem to remember negativity on Lucarno’s chances of staying last year . I reckon you need to be with a horse with a stamina doubt in the Leger, perversely- those certain to stay are unlikely to be quick enough. FF out to 11/4 on Betfair, filly closing in on him….

She does seem to hold reputable form going into the race.

The second home in the race which she won at The Curragh, Hasanka, is second in the market behind Septimus for the Irish Field St Leger today too, so the form of that race seems to be credible if you take the market into consideration.

Still needs to improve in today’s company, but does look interesting.

I’m with Frozen Fire all the way..ticks all the boxes for me. Couldnt believe his price this morning. He has done nothing but improve at home since the derby…they are delighted with him. Ground and trip no problem, even tho trip has been reported as a concern (did he look like a non-stayer at the end of the irish derby?) Murtagh travelling to england is another plus, should be around 7/4 in my book…..GET ON!

It’s unorthodox thinking Carvill – and I like it. However I appear to have sided with Washington Irving so not a complete acknowledgement of your sentiment it seems.

    Dettori does it again…

My heart was in my mouth when Unsung Heroine started running up there!

I told the work lads to back Washington Irving and Conduit at the prices, and was shouting "get back" at Colm O’Donoghue for the first few furlongs before accepting that he had thrown all chance away. Was made up when Conduit came through on a bacon saving mission. Was a good race. The fillies showed up really well, but will need to watch the race back as the place to be was the back and wasnt watching the fillies through the race.

I thought Look Here got bumped around a bit at one stage, but don’t think it affected the result..probably happened to others as well but she was the only one I was watching.

I’ll be "romantic" for this years Leger.
Conduit and the two fillies, Look Here and Unsung Heroine.
Not sure if FF will stand the trip…

    Can’t argue with that!

Was on Look Here and she appeared to be going as well as the eventual winner 2 furlongs out, not sure whether she just failed to see out the trip?

Can’t take anything away from the winner though, wouldn’t have come in my top half a dozen picks, but won very nicely indeed. A good run from the second aswell.

Didnt really fancy FF or AV to win that as they didnt look to have the stamina. Did fancy Washington Irving but he was given no chance. I dont think that crabs the form of either derby, they were totally different races to a 1m6.5f event on soft ground at doncaster. It is always possible to find one from the derbies from the way they run but it is always worth remembering that it is a different style of race.
