Some things reaffirm my faith in the almighty.
Why on earth would connections want to jock off Callan, who knows the horse inside out , for a ring rusty Dettori who would hardly know the horse from Adam.
Probably simply trying to associate themselves with all the hype.
Finished last – just desserts in my view.

If I personally owned a horse and had the option of choosing between Callan and Dettori, i’d go for the in my opinion the better jockey Dettori.

It is harsh jocking Callan off and he may know the horse better but it’s the horses connections choice and Dettori had rode the horse once before and won on him . . .

Well, I’ve never been Frankie’s greatest fan but had to say I was chuffed to see him riding again today. However, when I switched on the telly and heard what had happened it left a nasty taste in my mouth and, yes, I’m glad the horse finished last. Divine retribution.

I’m glad someone else agrees I was having this discussion with someone in work today. I don’t dislike frankie but there are fewer riding better and stronger than Callan at the moment IMO. Crazy decision and poetic justice!

I even checked out the horses previous races to see how many times Callan had ridden him and felt even more annoyed….

I agree totally with you guys.
Its only 2 runs ago that Callan rode out of his skin to win a Group 2 on him at York, and did nothing wrong when outclassed on him subsequently.
I also remember him riding a stormer to win a Listed race on the all weather at Kempton on him, beating Dettori ironically, in a driving finish, who if I remember was caught slightly out of his ground.

Of course, what we need is for Neil to win the Derby on my 100/1 horse [assume he’s stil riding that one]. C’mon Neil!!

I thought that the BHA had clamped down on late jockey substitutions?

On the day Callan, Kirby and Fallon were all permitted to be jocked off booked mounts for Dettori.

I realise that Dettori and John McCririck are the only two racing figures the general public have heard of, but is racing really that desperate to bend the rules for the Ascot PR man, pizza salesman and part time jockey?

I wish Frankie would bore off. He’s been caught twice for Coke, and despite what he and his Agent claim, IMO this undoubtably means he has a long standing habit.

If a burglar is successfully prosecuted twice, how many will he have gotten away with it? Statistics speak for themselves.

I agree with the OP – just deserts, and I doubt it was something Mr. Jarvis would have done.
