Big fan of Brookie, followed him last year, and a horse I’m looking forward to this year. Sam Twiston Davies booked, but I’m just not 100% we’ll see him here.
I went to take the 16’s, but it was long gone, and now left with 10’s. It wouldn’t have been a big Antepost, but still annoying. Hopefully this won’t cut up drastically, and if he does go, I’ll get a backable price
Brookie
Final Decs
Missed the 10’s on Brookie, so waiting to see if he goes bigger than 7’s
The one that’s annoyed me is Uncle Phil. Almost switched to from Brookie, and should’ve taken the 33’s. Kicking myself. An old notebook horse of mine, and if I end up actually betting on the race, he’s one I’m still considering. Just not at 33’s
Edit – Got the 33’s EW Uncle Phil, no choice but to leave Brookie
October 21, 2025 at 21:00 #1742713The handicapper isn’t giving JPR One an inch after his Haldon Gold Cup win, but I just think he’s so likeable. I’ll probably end up backing Nells Son again

EDIT POST-FINAL DECS:
Or neither as the case may be. Looking at who’s left Matata may just outclass the lot of them. Not a race I’m gagging to have a bet in, but if I’m to have a go it’ll be Matata.
October 23, 2025 at 22:54 #1742803Unexpected Party is too big of a price given his course form.
Unexpected Party 16/1
October 24, 2025 at 09:06 #1742813lovely morning down here, sunny and a bit of a nip in the air
October 24, 2025 at 10:21 #1742817Uncle Phil 33-1, Cobden has ridden the stables last two winners.
The more I know the less I understand.
October 24, 2025 at 15:20 #1742833I’ll try Third Time Lucki ew
October 24, 2025 at 19:54 #1742854Rip Third Time Lucki
On another note feels wrong to include in the same post but there is a very lengthy stewards report on Unexpected Party from today which is not entirely surprising as he has previous for not raising a leg all season then growing an extra one in March at the festival
