I’m sorry to report that I’ve been informed of the passing of Jim-jts who many of you will remember as an original founder member of trf.
Jim was a prolific poster, many heated debates were had with Jim with many of us. He could stand his ground but always had a humorous side that tempered his debating style. Jim became a bit disillusioned with TRF after Daylight’s passing and then when we made some changes he didn’t really like.
Jim continued on other forums for a while and had his own website https://jtsracing.wordpress.com/ where a lovely tribute and history of Jim’s involvement in online racing has been posted.
I met Jim and he was very much the same in real life as his online persona suggested, talkative, knowledgeable and friendly.
RIP JimDavid

JimJTS was a big character on here when I first joined TRF
A few occasions I would stir the pot in the many Rangers and Celtic debates, I always sided with Jim on those
A shame he left the forum as he was passionate about his football and horse racing

May 2, 2020 at 14:37 #1487800This is sad news.
I joined the “TRF” in February, 2001 when “JTS” was in full flow.
He certainly could become lively at times – even when Craig (Daylight) made changes it would be a drama. Even in the early 2000’s he felt “TRF” was becoming too commercial and not to his liking!
Jim’s speciality was on the “AW” and do remember somebody referred to it as “sand donkeys” – he was none too happy with that description.
I wonder what happened to the likes of Pewter, Kathy, Escorial and many more from the early days?
RIP Jim

May 4, 2020 at 12:27 #1487870Very sad to hear this news and all the more surprising in regard to someone who appeared to be blessed with so much energy and life force, to thus reach their final finishing post. Jim was one of the main characters in here, who often had a strong view – whether on the forum clock, the direction of this site, or certain individuals ( including me ) – he gave no quarter. A great loss when he left and even more so now. His postings were different, enjoyable, and often stimulated further debate.
On a more positive note, Jim’s presence is etched in this house permanently. I will always remember him as that strong big red hand that sometimes saw red, but whose words represented his true feelings, and expressed in his own very natural and oft comical way.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"May 4, 2020 at 16:14 #1487878While the gent in question was before my time here, being a relative newcomer,he sounds like he was a real character and just the type needed to inject passion into the many topics we debate.
His love of a/w racing would have made him a real kindred spirit as I too love the a/w with forums & racing needing such people I have no doubt he will be sadly missed.
Condolences to all his family & friends.May 4, 2020 at 23:19 #1487889As a racing fan of the jumps, the flat and the all weather, I’m grateful to Jim for the attention he gave to all of the above.
Putting up two selections a race for the flat and AW, he achieved some very decent results, and some great forecasts. Many years ago I’d print off his selections off his website en-route to the bookies and leave a sheet pinned to the board much to the chagrin of the staff…
Clearly passionate about his sport Racing, Football and Rangers in particular, it is also very clear his contribution to this forum back in the day was immense.
Sincere condolences to Jim’s nearest and dearest.
