I love it when a plan comes together
Just wish I was as confident about Liverpool winning at Half Time and Full Time, though I did have a little on at the 7/4 – but I should have had more

August 28, 2007 at 09:09 #112686Well 2 out of 3 might not be bad for Meatloaf but it’s ****-all use when you’re backing trebles!
Carling Cup treble for midweek
Sunderland to beat Luton
Reading to beat Swansea
Man City to beat Bristol CityBest price 8.02 with Ladbrokes (Lads are actually best price about all 3 matches individually with some firms as low as 5.20 for the treble)
Strike-rate 0% (0 from 3)
Profit -3.00[/color:1twy7aiy]August 28, 2007 at 11:51 #112707Well 2 out of 3 might not be bad for Meatloaf but it’s ****-all use when you’re backing trebles!

As for the treble, I fancy all 3 also, but thanks for flagging Ladbrokes up as I hadn’t really bothered to compare the odds. I will definitely be doing that treble at those odds – fingers crossed, and win or lose – cheers for the advice.

August 30, 2007 at 20:52 #113063Thanks Mikky – I won’t hold my breath – my previous sojourn into the system/blog type tipping had an impressive number of short price losers – 2 winners from 28 bets (at 6/4 as well!) or something like that.
I’m away for 2 weeks from tomorrow morning so here’s one for Saturday. Onwards and … ahem …upwards, as they say:
Spurs to beat Fulham (11/8 Betfred)
Newcastle to beat Wigan (8/11 general)
Reading to beat West Ham (5/4 Boyles & Bluesq)Best price treble 8.76 Boylesports (9.28 with Betfair)
Strike-rate 0% (0 from 4!
Profit -4.00[/color:3d13uyoz]August 30, 2007 at 21:28 #113074Spurs are reasonably priced at 11/8 but I think the Hammers may be the ones to trip up your treble DB.

No chance of a draw for me at Old Trafford – Sunderland will just want to keep it respectable.I just wasn’t that impressed by Palace or Ipswich last Sunday but maybe the warm weather had an influence.

September 1, 2007 at 12:00 #113244It is still a couple of weeks short of when I normally start to have a footie bet, so Premiership only this week. My normal approach is to select five games and perm £1.00 per line, max £5.00, as required (My bank for the whole season is £150.00). Over the last couple of seasons I seem to have done ok, in my humble/mug punter sort of way, so just for interest I shall keep a record on here for the season.
Saturday 1st September 2007

September 1, 2007 at 12:47 #113252I was asked to do a write up for Betfair, previewing the Boro v Birmingham game. For anyone interested, I came up with the following selections.
Boro home win @ 2.16
Boro h/t Boro f/t @ 3.65
Over 3.5 goals @ 4.2
Boro to win 3-1 @ 22Boro have beaten Birmingham 4 times out of 4 in the Premer League at the Riverside, and I am hoping for 5 out of 5 today. Boro are also trying to record their 1500th league win in their history, and the sooner they get it the better lol.
Anyone wanting to read my article in full can do so here;

All the best,
Mike
September 1, 2007 at 14:21 #113259Thanks for the read, Mike
Can’t have been too easy to make those calls as both teams are among the unpredictable in the Premier league in my estimation.
Z
September 1, 2007 at 14:46 #113262You’re not wrong Z,
Boro are so unpredicatble, and annoying as a supporter lol. One week we are beating the likes of Man Utd 4-1, Chelsea 3-0, etc, then we are getting beat at home to the likes of Sunderland etc – we are very inconsistent and very difficult to predict.
I wouldn’t normally try to call a Boro game, but I do a lot of sport’s writing for Betfair and as they asked me to do this game I had to oblige lol. But between you and me, I haven’t got a clue who will win today

Yes Z, great performance from the Boro on Saturday and to be honest, they should have won by 4 or 5 quite easily. Still, it’s better to miss the chances when your 2-0 up than miss them when at 0-0. Well done on your predictions also.
Mike
