Aussie superstar So You Think had his seasonal debut for Aidan O’Brien at the Curragh and won very easily.
Corals have him 5/1 jt fav with Workforce for the Coral-Eclipse. At this stage that looks a pretty attractive price to me.
Shaping up to be another great flat season.
May 2, 2011 at 15:37 #353324Apparently going for Tattersalls Gold Cup rather than Coral-Eclipse.

It won well enough against inferior horses, at least we know its made the transition over here. Interesting horse, bit of a monster.

He’s beaten very little very easily; surely a mark of 142 awaits?
May 2, 2011 at 15:51 #353331Just watched a replay. Extremely impressed. Quickened very nicely 1 out and quickly put several lengths between him and the others.
May 2, 2011 at 15:53 #353333With the Tattersalls Gold Cup on the 22nd May and the Eclipse on the 2nd July surely there’s a chance he could run in both?
I was very taken with him today. Couldn’t help but be impressed with how powerful a specimen he is, a real bull of a horse.
May 2, 2011 at 16:11 #353338I be taking buckets of cash and putting them on this lad for the Tatts Gold Cup.
Have not seen the race though but sounds as if it was good. Bloody studying running my racing

How can you be impressed by that?
Beat trees, will let you know if I’m impressed when he runs in a Group 1.
May 2, 2011 at 16:19 #353341In fact it beat rated one 103 rated horse and 2 105 rated horse by 10l.
Is that not good debut i don’t know what is

Yep, could do. They don’t seem to be mentioning the Eclipse at the minute for him but that could change.

lets look at it in perspective, you’ve got a 126 rated horse coming here with his last run being touched off in the Melbourne Cup off 8-11.
This morning when you woke up and read the race, looked at his opposition would have considered anything over 5l victory to catch you by surprise and stand up take note?
Personally the horse won how he should have won, lets not beat around the bush this isn’t a project he’s the final article so he had to win like that or you’d ask questions.

They may not have been Group horses but the fact is he beat them impressively. He could not do anymore than he did, but I agree we learned very little today, only that the horse is in good heart and is well in himself.
May 2, 2011 at 16:49 #353347I agree with Mr Wilson but the change of gear was exciting. I never thought a High Chap could change gear like that
May 2, 2011 at 16:57 #353348When he does switch off and relax into his racing rhythm, and then quickens effortlessly with the huge stride, it’s a pleasure to watch.
As for the field, if you complain about a top horse scaring off opposition, I’m sure Famous Name and co will be out to excite in the near future.
We’ve got a top group of older horses (SYT included) this year, so the Eclipse can wait. There’s a chance the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes could be the race of Royal Ascot. Planteur, So You Think and Workforce.
Although maybe Workforce won’t be there if the Tattersalls Gold Cup goes how I think it will……..
May 2, 2011 at 17:08 #353352will let you know if I’m impressed when he runs in a Group 1.

Snide git.
May 2, 2011 at 17:30 #353361Had he not won like that today against those opponents I would have been worried. The acid test will come when he faces horses of similar class. He’ll certainly hold his own. A very good horse.
