April 6, 2008 at 11:18 #156405Lovely horse!! Won me my National stakes back too!

Thanks for posting these lovely photos!
April 6, 2008 at 11:29 #156406I just have a problem with him in that, no matter how hard I try not to I keep expecting him to be a grey horse! It’s lovely to see them after the race, I was close to Grey Abbey after his Gold Cup run and I felt honoured to be in his ‘presence’..lovely photos, thank you for putting them up.

Haha i was looking for a grey horse too.
I remember getting to stroke Nil Desperandum after the Eider win last year, it’s dead nice to be able to pat them etc when they’ve just ran amazing races. , and of course won you lots of money haha.April 6, 2008 at 12:53 #156424Nice pics.

I had the same problem last year, kept expecting Silver Birch to be a grey!

Lovely photo. He looks well happy and relaxed

How jammy are you, lovely photo. Did you see King Johns Castle? Awesom fella isnt he?
April 9, 2008 at 14:22 #157058I have to say that when I looked at the first four coming back to the unsaddling enclosure Snowy Morning was the one who appeared to have taken his race very well. He wasn’t fresh of course, he was unsuprisingly sweating quite a lot, but he just looked that little bit more perky than the others, and that more than anything makes me believe that with Ruby on board next year he can go closer still. He’ll have Old Benny to contend with next year though!
April 9, 2008 at 15:28 #157084yeah i saw kingjohnscastle awesome

April 9, 2008 at 15:43 #157093Did you see Hedgehunter there with him for a time as well? Despite RP reporting something may have "gone amiss" he looked suitably relaxed and happy like Snowy Morning.
April 11, 2008 at 21:55 #157485I backed SM each way – not sure he can improve on this next year. Chances are he will have more weight (?) – big downside humping more than 11 stone in the National (he had 11 stone 1 pound this year – acknowledged)
He jumped and galloped in a most pleasing fashion.

I meant to post this ages ago, but better late than never !
I’m really pleased you got to stroke him – Snowy Morning is one of my favourites, ran an excellent race in the Grand National as well as at Punchestown afterwards, and is on my short-list for next year’s National.
He is a really good consistent horse, and that’s a lovely photo.
